USA, Jan. 3 – 7, 2005

Telenovela-World: Translate Please!! [USA, 1/6/05] Author: najia (---) Date: 01-07-05 19:11 PST

I know that 2 years have passed. Could someone please answer these questions for me:

1. Did Jonas accuse Salome that their child wasn't his? What was their argument about? What is the child's name?

( Is it Sebastian's child?)

2. Is Ofelia married to Rafael?

3. What were Jonas & Drago arguing about?

4. What has Drago done to put the tribe into such a mess? What was that encounter with the gun about?

5. At the end of the episode, Erendira accuses Sebastian of something...what was it?

Thanks for responses

Najia

Re: Translate Please!! Author: Mika (---) Date: 01-07-05 19:26 PST

Yes, I think Jonas looks upon the baby with suspicion, as if it might not be his. ~ I didn't catch the baby's name. I thought I heard "Emilio"..... but I could be wrong.

Ofelia's not married to Rafael, but it appears she left the cantina to become the "secretary" at the fishery. Looks like she's drinking more too.

Jonas and Drago were arguing about returning to Malarribo (or however you spell it). Jonas doesn't want to go back there, but Drago is determined to find the money. Looks like he owes some to those drug-traffickers.

Drago has brought the tribe into ruin by his drinking, and stupid dirty dealings.

At the end Erendira was pissed off because she knew Sebastian had gone to the abandoned ship. She asked "Will you still continue to go there after we're married?!"

Re: Translate Please!! Author: DAA (---) Date: 01-07-05 20:04 PST

1. Actually, Salome said that in front of the tribe that Jonas has his honor as everyone, even her mother, believes the child is his. This conversation leads one to believe he is aware the child isn't his. Not to mention earlier he said he feels nothing for this child and if it wasn't that he meant his honor he'd not care at all. So yep, I believe the two of them are aware the baby is Seb's.

2. I certainly don't think she's married as Escudero was flirting up a storm with Ofe.

3. Going back to Malaribbo

4. He's a slimebag. He's got them all messed up in dirty business and now wants Jovanka's money to get them off his back. The gun was a warning. They gave him 24 hours for the money but he asked for more time.

5. Going to the old boat where he and Salome had run off to when they ran away.

Aye Papacito!!!!!

Telenovela-World: [usa, 1/7/05] Re: Translate Please!! (updated) Author: B. (---) Date: 01-07-05 21:51 PST

(sorta summary for much of the episode / Friday 7 Jan 2004)

Shallowme was mad that Jodáss brought the child to wherever she was, because she doesn't like him (the kid) to be in that type of place, whatever it was. Jodáss was mad because he doesn't like Shallowme leaving the kid with other gitanas (it's as if he's afraid the kid is going to blab something he shouldn't -- i mean, really!! the kid's not even two yet!!). Jodáss is definitely NOT the father, and he knows and resents it. he accuses Shallowme of not liking to have him anywhere near the child, although if she does feel that way, it seems she has reason given that the only reason he wants to have the kid around is as his beard: so far as he's concerned the only good thing about the kid is that since he and Shallowme both say he's their child, everyone else thinks they have a real marriage with sex and everything instead of the complete sham they actually have, and thus he gets to keep the "respect" that he claims he "deserves" (by the way, his attitude during this whole conversation, coupled with the fact that they're both perfectly sure that the kid is Seb's, leads me to be certain about something i've suspected for a while: that even when Jodáss raped Shallowme, he wasn't able to "perform," just as he had not been able to with Ho Tramp that one time. not that not being able to follow through in any way negates the fact that he made the attempt in the first place --as it shouldn't-- but it would explain why in spite of the rape they both know the child isn't his). Shallowme reminded him that she hasn't told ANYone that the kid isn't his -- not even her mother. later, when he broke it to Shallowme that the tribe would be returning to Malarribo, Jodáss warned Shallowme against trying to revive her "glorious past" with Seb. Shallowme, offended, just snaps that their lives are very different now.

speaking of fathers and sons, it's interesting that Rajael tried to talk Seb out of marrying Ho Tramp. it's incredibly clear that Seb doesn't love Ho Tramp at all -- my take at this point is that he's mostly marrying her out of gratitude for her help with the fishing company, because he's been convinced that she loves him --and is hoping that's enough for both of them-- and to get his grandmother to stop nagging him about it. (and who knows? maybe he's hoping Ho Tramp will stop clinging to him all over the place and will leave him alone a bit for a change once they're married...) he describes her to Rajael as "the woman i need," but in a very cold, matter-of-fact way. Rajael points out that way back when, he himself had the choice between staying with the woman who was "right" for him, and the woman he loved. he chose the "right" woman, and look at the mess that resulted. Seb is cranky with his father for bringing up Shallowme, but Rajael says that it needs to be talked about, and points out to Seb that he's still in time to change his mind. unfortunately, Seb is determined (i think he's just afraid of the alternative if he should back out at this point). Rajael, at least, appears to be the only one in Malarribo still convinced that Shallowme loved Seb.

when Jodáss objected to going back to Malarribo right after Farsiarca had just had a big argument with Jovanka about it, Farsiarca lost it. Jodáss objected to the way his father was manhandling him, and Farsiarca sortof apologized, saying he hates it that that "maldito pueblo" has such an enormous influence over the tribe and that he's the leader of such a cowardly tribe. Jodáss reminds Farsiarca that he knows very well why Jodáss and Shallowme both have no desire to return to Malarribo, and snarks that the reason Farsiarca is making them do it is only because of his "associates" (Jodáss almost sneers as he says this -- which gives me a little hope for the kid). Farisarca just snaps that he's in charge and doesn't have to answer to anyone.

Farsiarca has already used --and lost-- in bad business deals all the women's jewelry he's been able to get hold of, along with all the rest of the money anyone in the tribe might have. Milenka asked Shrew to watch her baby for a while while she went to try to sell her necklace so she could get a little money with which to buy milk for her daughter. Shrew was shocked, and asked why Milenka didn't ask Farsiarca for help. Milenka said she had, but he just told her that it was up to the parents to take care of their children. Shrew seemed very disillusioned to hear this, and it, along with everything else, seems to be really getting to her (and is it just me, or does Shrew seem to have a lot less hair than of yore?). as others have said here, Farsiarca owes those gun guys a ton of $ and they were laying into him for it. he warned Jovanka and Pesky they would have to give him their jewelry again, saying that this time he only needed it as security for a "sure thing," but Pesky and Jovanka both snapped at him that they didn't have any more jewelry -- he'd already lost it all. (before Farsiarca came over to them, Pesky was complaining to Jovanka about how low the tribe has sunk that the women have to plead to tell people's fortunes just so they can get enough to feed their families. Jovanka snidely points out that this is Farsiarca's idea of progress for the tribe --they've lost everything her father had so patiently helped the tribe to build for themselves. Pesky tells Jovanka that they need to get Vanya back as patriarch, that he's the only guy who can save the tribe from completely ceasing to exist. hah. i'd say HAH, but i recall that Pesky was never 100% behind Farsiarca, so i'll cut her this one tiny break.) alone with Jovanka, Farsiarca also told her that in addition to the money she left in Malarribo --which is now his, he snarls-- he wants to know all her secrets. his attitude implies he thinks it's his right. but anyway, back to the gun guys, Farsiarca, getting desperate, all but cowers as he assures them they'd get their money but he needs more time -- he needs at least a month (they'd given him a day), he snivels. when they didn't seem to be going for that, he got desperate and told them that gypsies are allowed to go anywhere without being stopped (by the way, although i believe that's so in Europe, i have my doubts it necessarily is in the Americas, or at least, when it comes to anyone trying to cross into the US. does anyone know?), hinting they could smuggle goods for the gun guys, who are definitely interested. they give him his month to repay the money. he has to pick up their merchandise and drop it off in Puerto Santo.

oh, and Shallowme definitely knows Shrew is Rajael's daughter.

tonight is not the first time that Seb has had the fishermen leave him off at the shipwreck. according to Escudero, Seb often seeks refuge there.

Jovanka's been keeping Vanya up-to-date on his daughter, and even sends pictures.

i think it's interesting that Shallowme plays at being a pirate captain with her son (remember? Rajael used to play at that with Seb in the wrecked ship). i listened carefully for a name and am not sure i heard one, though. i can see how some might think it was "Emilio," but i think that was just Shallowme saying "el niño." in a later scene with Jovanka, it sounded like they both called the child "Fardi" or something of that sort.

Jovanka is not the only one in the tribe who is super-cynical about Farisarca. we've already seen that Pesky is coming over to Jovanka's side, even if it's not the gypsy thing to do, and it seems like most of the rest of women, at least, have lost whatever respect for him they might have had (assuming they had any to start with). Milenka saw the men with a bunch of packages and a truck, and is guessing that they have something to do with Farsiarca's dirty dealings. she just hopes that her father, as Farsiarca's right-hand-man, doesn't end up getting into trouble as a result (by the way, her dad is still gambling, and losing, big time. except that where Vanya might have tried to find a way to stop him, Farsiarca either doesn't know, or doesn't care). watching the men toast to their return to Malarribo, Pesky snarks to Jovanka that THIS patriarch keeps the tribe "content" with alcohol, parties, and dancing, and agrees with Jovanka when she comments that it's a shame what they've become. Pesky adds that if Vanya is still in Malarribo when they get there, they HAVE to convince him to return to the tribe, even if its only as "one more gypsy." (side comment: Milenka's dad is another of the many who are dubious about the wisdom of returning to Malarribo, but Farsiarca smacks him down about it. besides, Farsiarca adds, we're going to go there only long enough to pick something up, and then we'll be gone. the way he describes it, they're just going to be breezing through.)

Claudio is going to Europe to try to hook up with Mags, if he can find her. of course, his mother is in a total State ("how can you go to all those places full of "hippies"?!?") and his father totally supports him. Camila gave him a pic of her kid, "Jesusito," to give to Mags if he sees her, so she'll know what Camila's kid looks like.

Shrew confirmed that Shallowme and Jodáss are definitely not having intimate relations (not that any of us really had any doubts anyway!). she asked Shallowme if she was nervous about the possibility of running into Seb. Shallowme said she wasn't, because her life is totally different. she does what her husband tells her to do, and goes where he tells her to go. Shrew scoffs: "A husband with whom you do not have intimate relations, Salomé... with whom you only sleep (as in sleep, not as in have sex with), eat, and talk -- That's not a husband!!" when Shallowme shushes her, she replies that she hasn't told anyone that, and she knows that going to Malarribo is going to be very difficult for her sister. that's the last straw for Shallowme: "Why do you like to torment me so much? I didn't chose to live like this -- it's the fate I've been given, to sacrifice myself for those I love. And I have more than enough to deal with with that, Sashenka! Leave me alone!!"

Ho Tramp whined at Seb, asking where he'd been when he turns up late for his own bachelor party. he tried to say that time just got away from him and the other fishermen, but she told him not to lie to her -- she knew he'd gone to the wreck (she made one of the fishermen tell her by threatening to fire him if he didn't), and asked, with a nasty underdone to her voice, if he was going to keep moping around the wreck once they were married.

Telenovela-World: [USA, 1/10/05] Hmm, what happened to Sandra in the 2 years? Author: Tuly (---) Date: 01-10-05 15:42 PST It just dawned on me that this is the one character they didn't update us on -- wherever could she be? We saw all of her family, but Sandra was nowhere to be seen ... I hope they let us know what's been going on with her life. She's too good of a character to just let fade away, IMO. Re: Hmm, what happened to Sandra in the 2 years? Author: maritere (---) Date: 01-10-05 18:27 PST well, Tuly, we on the EC just found out - she was off getting the world's longest haircut! She looks cute - and it seems that while Claudio was getting his cash together to go find his Magda, she was home waiting for Mirko to come back......and so....we'll see! :)mt

Telenovela-World: East Coast Crew: Spoilerfest, anyone??? (SPOILERS FOR WCC) [USA, 1/10/05] Author: maritere (---) Date: 01-10-05 19:28 PST

Wow! is about all I can say right now! I think from now on we're going to be verry busy commenting on the turn the show is going to be taking!

So many changes:

Jovanka, seeking first her priest (and accepting that he was gone forever) and then seeking her father to show him pictures of Milenka's daughter and beg him to save the tribe from Dirty Dealin' Drago.. and the kicker...she now thinks Drago caused Yanni's death...which gives Vanya a way to be de-exiled from the tribe....

Sandra and the newly orphaned Mirko, delighted to see each other but the same old jealousy on Mirko's part making Sandra chase him away...this time when it looks like Mirko's got nothing in his way....

Claudio saying goodbye to his parents, leaving to work his passage to Spain on a boat as a crewman to find Magda....and then finding that the new member of the Gitano Liberation Front (wearing pants and straight hair!) has checked in to Jovanka's old house....I think the one who was happiest in all the reunions tonight was Claudio, and he's totally redeemed in my book....what is Magda waiting for? He can be her press secretary as she does her "mission" among the gitanas.

Sad, somber Padre Juan in D.F. running into an astounded, still happy-go-lucky Branko - who didn't know anything about Camila's pregnancy. But this new, priggish, standoffish, judgemental Juan...where did he come from? Did Santiago brainwash him?!! This isn't our Padre Juan, kids! Me temo que Holy Mother Church did a number on his head..!

And Sebas and Shallowne staring at each other (and the baby) Shallowme practically in rags and Sebas in his wedding suit - ahh, the LOOK on Erendira's face when the gypsies got out of their cars and she saw Sebas look at Shallowme....(never mind Vicious Vicky looked like she was ready to sprew right there when Drago made a point of stopping and interrrupting the rice-throwing to throw some verbal daggers at the Dominguez clan...what a pretty, totally insincere speech celebrating the newly married couple (and showing off his family, chiefly the baby that he and Jodas know is Sebas'...)/

And Rafael...still looking for Jovanka, finding Magda instead but sill assuring her of his friendship.

Magda in camp in her gaye clothes, running to her sisters....even Sashenka was glad to see her!

And the final kicker...why is Erendira's father threatening QV with exposing her as a half-gitana?

Like I said, too many scenes to put down in an organized fashion in a quick post...overall impression...things are going to be happening FAST!

Telenovela-World: [USA, 1/11/05] Re: Translate Tuesdays conversations Author: Lidia (---) Date: 01-11-05 22:22 PST

1. Drago reaffirms his banishment of Magdalena, but backs down when Jovanka reminds him whose money he's counting on; she agrees to hand it over if she is allowed to live in her old house with Magda as long as the tribe's in town.

2. Rafael says he has the right to know who his daughter is. Jovanka, unsurprisingly, disagrees. Most of the conversation consists of slight variations on this theme. At the end, after he goes for the kiss, Rafael tells Jovanka she needs somebody to take care of her. She's dubious about that, as well as about the kiss.

3. Salome endlessly tells Sebastian to go away, but he's not good at taking a hint. He asks her if she's happy, in the hopes that at least one of them has found happiness. She unconvincingly swears she is, and begs him to leave again, but not before (finally) telling him that they're not hermanos.

4. Jonas threatens Salome yet again. He is very suspicious that she would want to leave him, wonder of wonders, and reminds her of his vow to kill the gayo. There's more to this conversation that I don't remember. He also tells her he's going somewhere with his pop.

Sorry it's not very detailed... I'm sure someone can add what I've missed.

Re: Translate Tuesdays conversations Author: Gaviot (---) Date: 01-12-05 05:22 PST

Jonas also tells Salome that the baby's wellfare depends on the tribe continuing to think that it's his. The minute anyone finds out otherwards, the baby will no longer be protected.

I didn't catch if that was a direct threat that he would do something to the baby or not.

Jodáss / baby Author: B. (---) Date: 01-12-05 15:47 PST

<<I didn't catch if that was a direct threat that he would do something to the baby or not.>>

i don't remember exactly, but my impression was that it wasn't so much a direct threat (other than that he would withdraw his protection of the baby and of Shallowme) but the implication was that the tribe would reject Shallowme and the baby and kick them out on their own. and, since Jovanka will still be with the tribe, Farsiarca will forbid her to do anything for Shallowme, and of course Seb won't be able to because even if he didn't already believe Shallowme had betrayed him, he would kill Seb anyway so that Shallowme and the baby would be completely alone and abandoned. assuming the tribe hadn't already torn them apart for her being faithless to her wonderful, loving, "real" gypsy husband.

Telenovela-World: [USA, 1/12/05] ARGH!!!!! help, please!! Author: B. (---) Date: 01-12-05 22:15 PST

so my old VCR finally gave up the ghost not too long ago, and i got me a new one. i thought i had the new timer record thing mastered, and there i was, out at an after-work thing, not bothering to rush away minutes after i arrived because my VCR would be taping everything i missed so i could watch it at my leisure later.

riiiiiiiiight.

i hate my new VCR. it totally WASN'T taping at all. i got home 15 minutes before tonight's episode ended, realized it wasn't taping, and hit the "record" button just in time to see Juan be a total snot to Jovanka, but that doesn't change the fact that i missed EVERYTHING that happened before that point.

did i say ARGH!!!!!!!!? well, ARGH!!!!!!!!!

so, can someone please tell me what happened? or at least, what happened in the first 45 minutes? how did Farsiarca's little goods run go? did it get screwed up? what --if anything-- did Vanya supposedly see that Jodáss (or someone) warned Farsiarca to let Vanya talk to Pesky so he didn't start telling what he saw to get even with Farsiarca.

what else (if anything) did Baldomero tell Vanya?

i see from the last scene with Jovanka tonight that Shrew decided to go live in the house with Mags and Jova --good for her, although i am a little surprised, since she was the one who originally stomped out to go live the life of a Real Gypsy at the camp. did they say what her reason ostensibly was? what else did the women talk about?

Seb's scene with Queen Witch -- was he still drunk, or had did the walk back to town help him sober up? i'm guessing, since he seems to be in one piece, that he wasn't caught by any of the tribe, or at least, not by any that are Farsiarca's toadies. should i assume that Ho Tramp was eavesdropping again? (obviously, she hasn't learned the dictum that you shouldn't eavesdrop lest you hear something you'd really rather not!!). from a thread a little further down, she tries to off herself -- were we able to tell if it was actually a serious attempt, or more one designed to attract attention and make Certain People feel guilty? 'coz i seriously doubt we're going to be so lucky as to have her actually die on us just yet.

anything else i might have missed?

Re: ARGH!!!!! help, please!! Author: Lidia (---) Date: 01-12-05 23:00 PST

I'll do my best!

The goods run went so well that the drug dealers asked Drago to do it again. He agreed, of course. So there's still a good chance for things to go wrong later! Back at the camp, Jonas tried to question Drago's motives. During Drago's lack of an explanation, Vanya showed up to give Pasca the news about Baldomero. At pains they let him pass.

After Pasca happily greeted him, Vanya revealed that her long-lost brother was lost no more, although very sick. Oh, when he walked in on her she was reading the cards and divining the divine revelation that life repeats itself.

Erendira seemed to be serious about offing herself (yes, it was after eavesdropping) but you can't be sure with her. Sebastian did a very manly job of trying to rouse her in the shower. I guess there is no emergency medicine in Malarribo?

Saschenka is subtly softening toward gaye life after two years without a bath. She even tried on Magdalena's pants, in spite of chiding her about them. Though no official explanation was given for why she chose to live with Jovanka, I think we can assume that she's just using her common sense.

The other important part of the episode was Juan's meeting with Jovanka. He was cold and scornful of her confused but friendly advances, and even went so far as to ask her not to approach him anymore. The only good result of this was that we saw Saschenka comforting her mother.

thanks, Lidia! but one more question, if you don't mind: Author: B. (---) Date: 01-12-05 23:46 PST

can you tell me about Seb's scene with Queen Witch? was he drunk? sober? accusing? questioning? what happened?

Re: ARGH!!!!! help, please!! Author: Jess* (---) Date: 01-13-05 00:23 PST

Another thing you may have missed was Sebs conversation with his granny. She gets on his case for leaving Erendira on her wedding night and he tells her to stay out of his bussiness. QW says its not just your problem its our problem because she's from my family and I gave my blessing for this wedding. Sebs states you make it sound like an arrangement a bussiness transaction. QW tells him I know you went to see Shallow. Sebs says yes I saw her, I needed to confront her. We're not bro and sis, she confirmed it. QW says and you believe what she says. Seb replies for everyone there was a duda but you were the only one who was sure, I think its because you wanted it to be that way. Seb tells her about the note that Jovanka left explaining that they're not related and states I think my uncle Juan... (indicating he was gonna tell her that he thinks Juan was lied to, yeah!!! good job- damn he's on top of things for having that many shots of tequila) and then QW cuts him off saying she's fed up, etc. etc. etc. (you're fed up girl, we're fed up with you) I think Sebas will tell Juan his suspicions and bring up the letter Shallow mentioned. Hopefully they'll put 2 and 2 together and figure out QW forged another letter to control her son's life. I don't think it'll take too long for that to get worked out.

Ok so I need a favor too, for some reason the channel went out for about a minute when Jovanka was about to mention the letter to Juan. What did she tell him about the letter, I caught where he said he couldn't understand it and that it was not to be understood but to be forgotten.

thanks, Jess -- and your question is one bit from tonight i CAN help with: Author: B. (---) Date: 01-13-05 00:59 PST

although i didn't catch the very beginning of the scene, i do have it from when she is out on the street going after him (note: Juan's attitude and tone toward Jovanka throughout this whole conversation is cold to the point of being frigid, with an undertone of anger and outrage, sternly contained. he holds himself stiffly and is very standoffish; hers is unhappy and pleading -- she's looking in vain for the man she loved and believed loved her, but would be happy just to see the man who was her friend):

Jovanka: Juan, Juan -- please stop! Juan... What's wrong, Juan? Didn't you see me on the balcony?

Juan: Hello, Jovanka.

Jo: "Hello, Jovanka"? That's all you have to say to me after nearly two years?

Ju: I don't think I have much to say to you. Don't make me talk, please.

Jo: Make you? I don't understand why you don't want to see or talk to me.

Ju: I'm seeing and talking -- What more do you want?

Jo: No, no, please -- I don't want anything more. I know you've made the best decision for you and I respect that, but I don'--

Ju <interrupting>: I'm really very tired, Jovanka. I've had a very long trip and I want to rest. We can talk some other time -- that is, unless you disappear again tomorrow, or even tonight, which wouldn't surprise me. Excuse me. <turns and walks away around the corner>

Jo <catches up to him>: Juan, Juan, please! Please, stop.

Ju: What do you want, Jovanka?

Jo: But what is wrong with you? You seem like someone else. Who are you, Juan -- I don't recognize you!

Ju: Who am I? In truth, I'm not surprised you should ask me that. Because if I became convinced of anything when you left, it's that you never understood who I was and what I felt for you.

Jo: Don't speak to me like that -- I was honest with you.

Ju: Oh, yes?

Jo: Of course. I wrote you all about why I had to leave.

Ju: Yes, yes, that's true: You explained it all. It was just a little late for a few things, is all. Jovanka, I'm asking you to please not follow me -- don't seek me out any more -- that's all I ask.

Jo: I-- all this time, I--

Ju <interrupting again>: All this time I have spent isolated from the world, trying to forget what happened. So respect [my wishes] a bit, please, and understand that it hasn't been easy for me to understand everything you wrote to me.

Jo: I thought you would understand.

Ju: Well, I didn't. I didn't understand it, and I still don't. I don't want to waste any more time on this, because what happened doesn't need to be understood, but rather forgotten. Good-bye, Jovanka. <turns and walks away. Jovanka just stands there, looking crushed>

=================

PS: were there any other bits or good conversations in the earlier part of the show? it's strange... it's one thing if i'm watching something and decide to mute the volument, or FF through a scene on tape that doesn't interest me. but not being able to make the choice to listen/watch or not to listen/watch is just FRUSTRATING.

Re: thanks, B. Author: Jess* (---) Date: 01-13-05 07:53 PST

Everythings been pretty much covered but here's part of the conversation btwn Vanya and Baldomero. Jovanka and Magdalena and Shrewshenka's conversation oh and some of Jovanka and Rafa

Rafa tries to kiss Jovanka. Why are you doing this? no tiene sentido, you're crazy. Rafa-but Juan's not here anymore. Jo- i know but my feelings haven't changed Rafa- Do you still love him? Jo evades the question and says I think the best would be si te acerques lo menos posible a la casa and she leaves him outside

Shrew is taking a bath and loving it (reminded me of Oscar from pdg). Magda calls her on it and says you missed this house. Shrew says I didn't miss anything I don't like to live btwn 4 walls (sure, then why are you there and taking a bath, hmm?) Magda says there's nothing wrong with enjoying things even if you are a gitana. Shrew- stay with your frivolities they are not for gitanas, we take baths in the river under the moon (but she makes no attempt to get up or leave her bath and head for the river) Magda calls her out again- you have such extreme ideas about gitana life. I don't want to argue over stupid things, despite everything I still care about you Shrew.

Basically Jovanka tells Magdalena that she wants them to be united and that if Rafa comes to see her not to talk to him and turn to the other way. she says she doesn't trust him, remember how he hurt her (Rafa right now has no chance). At one point Magda asks her what's wrong, Jovanka looked alterada and was pacing because of her encounter with Rafa. Jovanka doesn't want to tell her. Magda says that's ok you can keep you're secrets. Jovanka takes this as a dig at her and starts getting angry and talking about how she doesn't want them seperated, always together. Magda tells her that's not what I meant I mean you don't have to rendirle cuentas a nadie (I'm working from memory so aguantame it might not be all completely accurate and in the right order but its the gist of the conversation) Magda asks if she's seen Juan. Jovanka says no. Sherw walks in and says don't lie to us anymore. Magda says to be united we don't all have to think alike. She adds after all this time now that we're together why are we arguing? she then says she's gonna make them a great dinner. Jovanka and Shrew are shocked, shrew follows Magda cooking I gotta see this.

This is when Jovanka goes to the balcony and sees a shadow and realizes its Juan, she gets happy and Juan sees her and stares then they make eye contact Jovanka smiles and Juan looks sad and looks down and walks by. jovanka calls Juans name and he ignores her and keeps on walking. She yells Wait wait and runs downstairs to catch up to him.

Vanya and Baldomero (these are just summaries not verbatim)

Vanya tells a sick Baldomero that he should go to Puerto Santo to get help. Baldomero says I want to die here. Baldomero tells him you should go back with the tribu and Vanya says I can't I left. Baldomero replies you remind me of a gitano that left and due to his stubborness he didn't want to return. Vanya doesn't understand, since I've been patriarca no one has been desterrado. Baldomero- you weren't patriarca you were just a child. Vanya- who are you talking about. BAldomero- I'm talking about my myself I'm the one who left and didn't want to come back not even to discuss my reasons. I am the son of Carlomanio(?) who was exiled because he fell in love with a gaye. I showed my dad solidarity. I was too proud. Is that what you want? It's horrible. I wanted to be alone. I didn't want to return is that what you want? Go back, go back, they need you. (i think this is what is going to push him in the direction to take on Drago- that and when he goes to the campamento to see Paska he sees the drug shipment. He tells Drago he's not gonna let him hurt his people, Farciarca makes a snide comment about them not being his people and all the while Lazlo is there as a complice he knows what's going on and doesn't seem to care I think I caught him saying baaaa baaaaa. Then paska tells him they need him, she doesn't like what's been going on.) Ok that's all i could remember right now hope it helps I definitely understand about the ff button if I don't wanna see it that's ok but not to be given the option annoys me and it alwas seems like I miss the really good episodes too.

Telenovela-World: [USA, 1/13/05] **Dialogue - Juan/Jovanka** Author: Tuly (---) Date: 01-13-05 19:59 PST

Juan - Jovanka?

Jovanka - Yes, Juan?

Juan - How can you talk to me like that, with so much cynicism, just as las night?

Jovanka - Excuse me?

Juan - I've come to get explanations about a lot of things. I would like you to tell me how you were able to go so far. How could you deceive everyone?

Jovanka - What are you talking about?

Juan - I'm telling you what I haven't been able to say in almost two years, but that didn't mean I stopped thinking about it.

Jovanka - I thought that you would understand, that when you read what I wrote to you, you would understand.

Juan - Understand what? Who can understand something like that? After reading what you left me, the only thing I felt was let down and deceived.

Jovanka - I didn't have a choice, Juan. I couldn't do anything else even though I loved you like I've never loved another.

Juan - Loved? Of course, of course ... I've got to learn to talk in the past tense, so far back that I won't even remember your face. But I don't know how to do that, Jovanka, and the only thing I've accomplished is to be filled with hate.

Jovanka - I never thought that I would hear words of hate against me from your lips, I believed you would understand.

Juan - I'm listening to you and I'm thinking that you're not the woman that I thought I knew, the woman for whom I was ready to change my life.

Jovanka - I had to do what I did for my daughters, I had to protect them, I couldn't leave them alone, mainly because of that daughter that I had with Rafael.

Juan (losing control and shaking Jovanka) - How can you say that you did what you did because of that daughter?!? Have you lost your mind, Jovanka, or what?

Jovanka - What's wrong, I don't know what you're talking about, you're hurting me.

Juan - It's not possible that you don't understand the sin you committed, that you made us all commit!!

Jovanka - Let go of me!

Juan - Only because you didn't tell the truth in time, Jovanka! You allowed two siblings to fall in love, to marry, to surrender themselves to each other! How would you like me to talk to you after you allowed such an atrocity?

Jovanka - I can't believe this, and much less from you, Juan. Where did you come up with that idea? How come you've made up such a thing?

Juan - I didn't make up anything. You told me this in the note you left me.

Jovanka - Note? I didn't leave you a note, I left you a letter that Salomé took and left on your desk because I was not allowed to leave camp, because if I had I wouldn't have been able to see my daughters ever again!

Juan - What do you mean a letter?

Jovanka - Yes, a long letter wherein I explained that I had to leave with my daughters, that I couldn't leave them alone, in which I explained that Salomé was not Rafael's daughter so you wouldn't worry because of what had happened between your nephew and her.

Juan - Wait a minute, Jovanka, that's not what I received ...

Jovanka (starts to cry) - They fooled you, they fooled you, Juan. That's the story of my life and it once again repeats itself with you. A lie is worth more than all that we lived together. How can that be? How?

Telenovela-World: [USA, 1/17/05] BREAKING NEWS! MAJOR MAJOR SPOILER FOR WCC!!

Author: maritere (---) Date: 01-17-05 18:16 PST

Are y'all ready?

Jovanka just asked Juan to confess her and...he said no!

Because....

HE CONFESSED HE'S NO LONGER A PRIEST!!!

Excuse me while I go faint...DAA, I need the icebag, not the icepick, please! mt

Translation (quick summary, not verbatim) Author: maritere (---) Date: 01-17-05 18:51 PST

Juan was too ashamed to seek out Jovanka once he learned about the trick with the note during their last conversation at her house.

He thinks she was right to say he didn't love her enough because he believed the note. Juan is full of self-doubt.

Jovanka is now all in forgiveness mode, trying to reassure him, looking for Juan to react to her, to restablish their special understanding and their connection, but he won't, he seems to be unable to, or unwilling. He admits he doesn't know who he is anymore - or what he wants to do with his life. He's living in the fisherman's quarter while he thinks over his next move.

He explains that he's just spent 2 years trying to get over what was in the note - after he came back from the desert to find her gone. Jovanka reminds him the note was the lie and now he knows the truth. Juan demands to know why she didn't tell him that one of her daughters was also Rafael's. She explains that she couldn't, she had to protect the girls and leave with them, etc.

He admits he went into the desert already knowing that he loved her, he just needed a few days to decide definitely and find the confirmation in himself to be able to change his life. But she didn't wait for him - not even to say goodbye. That departure and the note drove him to Mexico City.

Jovanka tries to find in this new Juan if not her love, at least her friend...the friend that was able to give her peace when no one else could...can't they at least still be friends? Juan doubts it. Finally, Jovanka begs him to confess her, so that she can tell him the things she needs for him to know. Juan refuses, citing the fact that confession is not between 2 people, but between one person and God - the priest is just a mere channel for reconciliation with the Divine. Jovanka insists she understands this point, even when Juan repeats that it is not a game, but a sacrament, she insists on confessing. That's when Juan drops the bomb: he couldn't even if he wanted to - because he's no longer a priest.

He also tells her he was willing to leave everything for her, but she had already left him! Jovanka's in shock now, as Juan tells her how hard it was to go through the steps to leave the priesthood, knowing that she would not be waiting for him, that there was nothing left of the sentiment that united them...although he would try to grab onto what was left of his feelings when things got bad during that time, even knowing it wouldn't take him anywhere because she was gone. Jovanka sadly explains again that she had no choice - she couldn't abandon her daughters, or her tribe.

She asks him if there's even a tiny chance those feelings could come back. Or could they at least be friends? Juan replies that he doubts it. He asks her if he had come back one day earlier from the desert and asked her to flee with him...would she have gone? Jovanka thinks it over and slowly replies that no, she couldn't have...because what kind of a mother would she be, if she abandoned her girls when they still needed her so badly to pursue her own dreams? Juan finally understands and becomes gentle with her. He can't argue with her point. Of course she had to leave - and he accepts that she did the right thing with her daughters. They kiss.

Juan breaks away, and says that this can't go on. He has nothing left, but he didn't come back to Malarribo to take up his life where he left off - he came back to start a new life, but he has no clue as to what this new life will be.

He then asks her to tell him who her daughter is. She tries to make him understand that she can't tell even him. He replies that then they have no chance of a future together - she can stay then with her tribe, her daughters, and her secrets. Jovanka is left pensive, head down as Juan walks away from her, across the room.

Telenovela-World: [USA, 1/20/05] The highlights... a brief recap Author: Robin N (---) Date: 01-21-05 06:33 PST

Very brief and in not-necessarily crono order:

• Shrew & Jodás make love in the woods; she swears to be his and his alone and to make love with no other man. He wants it to be just their little secret.

• Juan & Sebas cart off a fainting Shallow, over Driago's very anxious protestations that he can manage alone, and drive them back to the campground.

• Driago is in a panic that Shallow will talk more, and indeed she does as she tosses and turns in her bed in her tent as Jovanka and Juan look on. She tells them that Yanko is inside her and wants to speak: Juan thinks it must be hallucinations and Driago siezes on that ("Yeah, what he said, hallucinations.") Finally, Driago boots Juan and Jovanka from the tent when Jodás busts in and demands to take care of his own woman.

• Jodás accuses Shallow of a plot to see Sebas just so she can tell him that Faredi is his son, unknown to him Eréndira is eavesdropping outside the tent and she's not happy to learn this detail. He comes out to discover her and they mince words. This is one secret she definitely wants kept.

• Shrew spots this confrontation with Eréndira and gets jealous and in Jodás' face; he doesn't do much to reassure her and Jovanka spots this strange too familiar talk and is suspicious (later confronting Shrew who denies anything special was happening).

• Juan and Driago mix it up with words: Driago tries to threaten him not to come back to the camp and Juan tells him he's not a priest anymore so if Driago thinks of harming people who matter to him then look out cause he'll kick his @ss.

• Juan and Jovanka start to exchange words: she's ticked that he and Rafa talked about her and Juan "decided to step aside for Rafa," and Juan was unable to finish his declaration that this is NOT how things were because Eréndira was antsy to get on the road.

• There was a mysterious woman who looks like she's cut from the same cloth as Eréndira making eyes at Juan during a business chat with E's father, Juan, E & Sebas.

• Pasca tells Baldomero he should get well so he can come back to the tribe. Baldomero tells her that it would be nice, but he's not going back until his father is forgiven. He tells her about the letters stolen by QV and the two puzzle over this.

• Rafa writes glowing prose about how great Magda is and she comes to the tavern to see Camila, meets him, he invites her for a soda, and while he's getting it, she reads his diary. She asks him what he means by his saying in the diary, "…with her by their side, anyone would be proud to...," but he is saved from answering by the return of Camila.

• Camila tells Magda she's confused by the return of Branko. Magda tells her that she's at risk of falling for Branko's lies all over again but Camila tells her she thinks he's changed.

*A buen entendedor, pocas palabras bastan.*

Telenovela-World: HELP, you guys I am SO confused! Author: Genesis (---) Date: 01-26-05 13:08 PST

Hey, everyone! I come again with the dear, dear hope that in your magnanimous kindness and wisdom (it is said that flattery will get you everywhere!)you can clarify some things for me. I am trying to keep up with the story by reading summaries but I just can't keep everything straight... I was reading that Juan and Sebastián are coming BACK to Malarribo, where the heck are they then? What is this new business venture they have, something about shrimp? Is Rafael involved? Why isn't he with them? Where is the Queen of Evil... is she dead?... sorry, wishful thinking! Another thing I don't quite get is the whole deal with Juan, does everyone in Malarribo know he left the priesthood? Do the Gitanos know too? and WHY does it seem like Juan is sort of resgined to never be back with Jovanka? Did they have a fight, because it seems from what I have read that he is acting like the injured party and I don't get that at all when he was the one who believed that idiotic note that his mom wrote. I JUST DON'T GET IT! I am sorry if I ask too many questions but its just that since the story is just getting started for me, I read the summaries of the current episodes and it seems like they are describing a different novela.

Thanks in advance and again sorry for all the inquiries... darn, it! Why are these novelas so frickin' addictive? Darn that Juan and Jovanka!! LOL

P.S.Nice to know you guys are out there!

Re: HELP, you guys I am SO confused! Author: Marisa (---) Date: 01-26-05 13:34 PST

So are those of us that watch since the show began...this is the time that Juan and Jovanka should be developing a deeper romantic relationship. Maybe this week we will see that happen but I have a feeling that Jimena will be making a trip to Mallaribo..Jovanka is still deeply involved in gypsy issues (father, kid's, tribe). The show has to get moving and release all the secret's if these two will ever get together. Let's see what happens with Sashenka and Drago tonight!!!!

The Magic Wand ending! Author: Genesis (---) Date: 01-26-05 14:14 PST

I hope that after all that has to be suffered they won't give us what I call the magic wand ending... you know the one where they drag all the conflicts till they are all bled to death, and we are all bored to death and then resolve everything in a few hurried episodes. It sort of leaves you unsatisfied even if things end the way you want them to. They should start resolving it all now so that we get to see a little happiness spread around to those who deserve it. Keep me posted on the whole Shrew- Drago thing! Glad to know I am not the only one confused! Thanks!

Let's see ... Author: Tuly (---) Date: 01-26-05 13:40 PST

1. Juan and Sebastián are at Eréndira's father's house -- wherever that is (but it's not in Malarribo).

2. Eréndira's father invested money in the fishery a long time ago when the ships were wrecked. He paid for all of the repairs and, as a result, Sebastián gave him a partnership interest in the business. Now that Juan is no longer a priest and will be helping Sebastián in the fishery, Juan has come up with a new idea to make money ... shrimp farms. It seems that Mr. Lambert will also finance this venture.

3. Rafael no longer works in the fishery -- he runs Ofelia's bar instead. Ofelia now works at the fishery as secretary.

4. Queen V is in Malarribo and doing fine, you'll be glad to hear <eg> -- it's just that the action hasn't been centered there in the last couple of episodes (since Juan and Sebastián have been away), she hasn't been in any scenes. The action in Malarribo has centered around the gypsy camp (there's lots going on there as I'm sure you've read); a couple of scenes at Ofelia's bar involving Rafael as well as Camila, Mario, the baby and the newly returned Branco; and Jovanka's house.

5. The only people in Malarribo who know that Juan has left the priesthood are Rafael, Sebastián, Queen V, Jovanka, Vanya and Drago. As a matter of fact, Juan and Sebastián discussed last night how the people of the town will take the news ... Juan is not looking forward to the prospect of breaking it to them.

6. Juan seems to be resigned to have lost Jovanka because they can't overcome serious obstacles, e.g., (1) Jovanka refuses to tell him who the daughter she had with Rafael is even though Juan promised to keep secrecy; and (2) Jovanka says that if she had to do it all over again, she would once again choose her daughters and her people over Juan.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Tuly! Author: Genesis (---) Date: 01-26-05 14:05 PST

That does help a lot, thanks! It's weird that Rafael is not involved in the business but I guess it never made him very happy in the first place. Also I just don't understand the whole Juan-Jovanka thing... when will they get over themselves enough to be happy? Again thank you so much for taking time out to answer! Very sweet!

Telenovela-World: [USA, 1/27/05] Re: Darn, worked REALLY Late Author: timoteo (---) Date: 01-28-05 08:02 PST

I have only a few minutes, but:

Drago is going to rent fast boats and smuggle his drugs into the US, and Laszlo goes to town to hire the fishermen to run the boats. They all sign on for the big money that they are supposed to earn, but no one is left to run the Dominguez fishery boats.

When Juan gets up in the plaza and announces this, he also says that he is no longer a priest. The fishermen get very mad at him, saying that they have confessed to him over the years and now he has betrayed them by leaving the priesthood. They wonder if their kid's baptisms will be any good.

Juan is back in his room dreaming of the conversation he overhears between Jovanka and Rafael in the church, when Homena walks in. She starts coming on to him a la Erendira.

Draog comes over to Jovanka's where the three Marias are, with jonas. He announces his wedding suit to Sashenka. Jovanka pleads with him not to do this. Drago insists, and asks Sashenka what she thinks about it. Sashenka asks Jonas what he thinks. Jonas says its a big honor to marry the Patriarch. Sashenka then, very disturbed, says yes and tromps out.

Victoria refuses to admit that she took Baldomero's letters when talking with Pesky in front of Sebastian. Back in the Railside Casino, Pesky, Baldomero, and Vanya talk about this. Baldomero didn't ever know that Carlo Magno fathered a kid, their brother/sister (Victoria) they sit around wondering why Victoria would steal the letters.

Branko is sleeping on the steps of the cantina apartment when Camila gets up. She feels sorry for him and Ofelia tells Branko to lagarte. Camila sticks up for him and buys him breakfast. They are talking in the plaza and Branko wants to drop trou right there and hoodle, but Camila isn't sure. Mario is hiding on the sidewalk and watches all of this.

Later, Ofelia tells Camila that this isn't a game she's playing and that Camila isn't very smart. She tells Camila that she needs to be thinking of Jesusito, too. She tells Camila that she learned this the hard way from Ropuerco.

The teaser shows Ropuerco meeting with Victoria after Erendira sprung him from the calabozo and also shows Rafael going to the camp and charging Dragiago, and Laszlo kneeing Rafael in the groin, which causes him to drop.

Telenovela-World: Dialogue/Diálogo - Juan & Jovanka (Tues., 2/1) Author: Tuly (---) Date: 02-02-05 16:56 PST

Juan – Jovanka, by God, you scared me. What are you doing here at this late hour?

Jovanka – Juan, I ...

Juan – What’s wrong? Don’t scare me.

Jovanka – Please, don’t ask me to leave, I need you. I need you today more than ever.

Juan – What’s wrong? Please tell me.

Jovanka – I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have come.

Juan – No, no, don’t leave. I’m here to listen, to help. What’s wrong?

Jovanka – Everything, Juan, everything’s wrong.

Juan – Calm down, I’m going to make some tea. Nothing’s going to happen to you here. (Juan fixes a cup of tea and offers it to Jovanka). Here, drink this, it's cold out.

Jovanka – Thank you.

Juan – Jovanka, you know I’m your friend. What’s wrong? Haven’t you been able to solve the problem with Sashenka?

Jovanka – No. I thought that if I gave money to Drago, he would forget that absurd notion of marrying her, but no, that’s not the case. Everything gets more muddled up everyday and I ... I’m sorry ... all I could think of was to come and see you.

Juan – It’s okay, I like it and it makes me happy that you came.

Jovanka – I needed to talk to you ... even if you can’t help me. Being by your side makes me feel secure.

Juan – You know you can always count on me ... always.

Jovanka – Thank you. Your counsel has always been so important to me, ever since I met you ... no one talks to me the way you do. Maybe that’s the reason why you’re the only person I’ve ever listened to in my whole life and I wanted you to know that.

Juan – I also feel very good when I have you near, Jovanka.

Jovanka – In spite of what you say, I feel you’re distant.

Juan – No, it’s just that I’m trying to think of a way to help you and I feel so useless. Have you talked to Rafael? He behaved very well toward you when he confronted Drago.

Jovanka (sighing) – Yes, Rafael has given me a lot of support lately. But oh well … maybe it was a mistake to come see you and seek your counsel, you already have your life.

Juan – Don’t say that, Jovanka.

Jovanka – Really ... you don’t have to worry about my daughters or about me.

Juan – Stop it, Jovanka, don’t close yourself off. I didn’t mean to say anything that would bother you, it wasn’t my intention.

Jovanka – I’m so stupid. You said to me during our last discussion that I wasn’t capable of putting distance between myself and my problems. And here I am acting stupidly by seeking your counsel, when you’ve already decided to start living your life without me. I’m sorry ... forgive me, Juan. (Jovanka starts walking toward the door).

Juan (taking her arm) – Jovanka, don’t leave. If you came to talk to me, let’s talk.

Jovanka – What for? So that you can send me to talk to your brother? To talk to your brother I don’t need to come here.

Juan – I know, forgive me, forgive me. It’s just that it’s hard for me knowing that you and Rafael have a daughter, Jovanka, and because of that, you have stronger ties that bind you.

Jovanka – Stronger ties than those you and I can have? Is that what you mean?

Juan – Well, yes.

Jovanka – It’s true, I have a daughter with Rafael, and that binds me to him ... and it takes me further and further from you.

Juan – Jovanka ...

Jovanka – Yes?

Juan – Why did you come?

Jovanka – I don’t know. Maybe because you got me used to this, to seeking your support every time things got difficult. Maybe because I still need you, or at least your advice.

Juan – Come ... come, sit down. I think that things are going to get even harder for all. Drago is not playing a game, Jovanka, and not only with regard to Sashenka, but with the town of Malarribo as well. There’s something not quite right about what he’s trying to do with the fishermen.

Jovanka – And what will we do? What will I do, Juan? My tribe, my daughters ... I don’t know how to help them.

Juan – Why don’t you start with the truth? Drago handles lies and deceit, so you must be his opposite. Somebody has to wear sincerity as a shield. Enough of the secrets. Enough of the half-truths. You have to start with your daughters, with Rafael. You have to reveal to her who her father is and to Rafael who his daughter is. You have to do it, Jovanka.

Jovanka – Juan, yo ...

Juan - ¿Qué te pasa, mujer? No me asustes.

Jovanka – Por favor, no me pidas que me vaya, te necesito. Hoy te necesito más que nunca.

Juan - ¿Qué pasa? Dímelo.

Jovanka – Lo siento, no debí venir.

Juan – No, no, no te vayas.

Aquí no te va a pasar nada.

Jovanka – Gracias.

Jovanka – Necesitaba hablarte ... aunque no puedas ayudarme. Estar a tu lado me da seguridad.

¿Has hablado con Rafael?

Juan – Ya Jovanka, no te cierres.

Juan – Jovanka ...

Jovanka -- ¿Qué?

Juan -- ¿A qué viniste?

¿Qué voy a hacer, Juan?

Telenovela-World: What an episode... [USA, 2/8/05] but some it was a joke, right?! Author: Genesis (---) Date: 02-08-05 05:59 PST

WOW! Shrew was fabulous in everything she did and said! She looked like she was about to throw up, and that is exactly how I would have felt. Poor girl, but she sure shared some of her grief with everyone who deserved it.

BUT some of this had to be a joke, right? After keeping that secret for so long Jovanka just spills it in front of everyone, without even an attempt to explain more so that Shrew would understand before she heard the news? And then, WHY was Jovanka acting like SHE was the hurt one? Wanting just to HUG Shrew and telling her that it was killing HER??? She should have been pleading for forgiveness for the fact that she made her daughter build a life based on lies. Jovanka looked so hurt, WHY? She should have had time to prepare for the reality of the fact that this was going go happen, because she made sure it would by her secrecy, and the fact that when she finally told the truth she didn't tell whom she should have told first! AAAAYYYYY! WHAT is up with her? She is so good and wise in other situations, why not here?

What a field day any good therapist or psychologist would have treating all of Malarribo, not to mention all the gypsy tribe! They'd make a fortune between Jovanka who thinks secrets are a solid foundation for a good life, Shallow who is proudly following in her mom's footsteps, Rafael who is content to live in a parallel universe with its own reality, Sebastian who also follows his father's footsteps, Shrew who feels lost between two worlds, Victoria who hates herself(and everyone else) with a passion...

I have carefully chosen not to speak of Juan... for now I have nothing even remotely nice to say about him! In honor of those who have talked me into keeping my hope for him and Jovanka I will refrain. AAARRGGHHH! Sorry, I had to allow myself that much!

Re: Juan never saw Jovanka on the street Author: Tuly (---) Date: 02-08-05 07:05 PST

He was going to the movies with Jimena and, as they walked away, Jovanka was walking into town. Jimena turned around, saw Jovanka and smiled BIG ... Juan never turned around, so he's totally unaware that Jovanka was there.

Re: The episode ended with ... Author: Tuly (---) Date: 02-08-05 08:56 PST

... Sashenka over at the Dominguezes' house. Present were Rafael, Sebastián, Victoria and Eréndira. Sashenka angrily told them that she hated them all and that she would rather be an orphan than be related to them (the same thing she told Jovanka).

Re: He did what???Genesis.... Author: mariana08 (---) Date: 02-08-05 07:07 PST

Juan told Ximena that he must do something to separate Jovanka from him.... and then he said that he'll take her help....

Jovanka was in town...destroy after what happened with Sashenka and it seems like she was going to look for Juan when she sees Juan walking with Ximena and Ximena noticed her... and grabbed him by the arm walking in a way of saying.....HE'S MINE.........!!

I almost got a heartattack!!! and you should have seen Jovanka's face of sadness.... but like I told Kathleen we can't lose hope now...

Sorry I answer for Kathleen......

read what I wrote to Kathleen,

CHEERS,

Re: He did what??? Author: Kathleen (---) Date: 02-08-05 07:07 PST

At the end, Juan was walking down the street with Ximena after telling her he was not going to pursue Jovanka so that Rafael could. She put her arm through his as they continued walking and, having just come from the horrible revelations with the tribe, Jovanka saw them together. I'm sick over it.

Re: She must have been even more crushed... Author: Genesis (---) Date: 02-08-05 08:13 PST

Poor Jovanka, not only did her secret blow up in her face, but now Juan leaves her behind too? Sad for her, I don't think I could have handled so many things without breaking down. OH, Kathleen, here we watch and wait...

Re: Jovanka did make an attempt to talk to Sashenka ... Author: Tuly (---) Date: 02-08-05 07:03 PST

... before it all came out. They were all in the tent -- Magda, Salomé, Sashenka and Jovanka -- right before the petición de mano. Jovanka said she needed to tell Sashenka something very important ... the two other sisters begged her to listen. But Sashenka wanted none of it. Not that that makes it right, but by not listening to her mother, she got the humiliation by Drago instead.

Don't be too hard on Juan ... he's just doing what he deems "just and honorable" by driving Jovanka away. Of course, his perception is totally warped ... he'll figure it out soon enough.

Re: Tuly is right... Author: timoteo (---) Date: 02-08-05 07:11 PST

Jovanka knew that she had to tell Sashenka before she told Drago.

But, Sashenka refused to listen to her. She refused to listed to her sisters, who told her to listen to Jovanka.

Now, Sashenka is blaming Jovanka for letting her find out in this manner. We have covered the territory of Jovanka's secret, so I won't delve into this, but Sashenka cannot blame Jovanka for the way she found out. Everyone: Jovanka, Magdalena, and Salome entreated her to listen, but she didn't want to. Now Sashenka is finding the world at fault for her situation. She built a world on fantasy, and when she found out that it wasn't true, it is now everyone else's fault.

Tuly is right. Sashenka has never once stopped talking, and only last nite did she listen, and only then because she was forced to. In the past, I had hoped that this would shut her up, but she is like Boris, my Siamese: nothing shuts her up and she has total staying power when it comes to making noise and being a pain.

And, Tuly is right on with Juan. He is a good guy. He is misguided. He will figure it out.

Telenovela-World: Re: Can someone give me the 411 on todays episode [USA, 2/15/05] Author: Mika (---) Date: 02-15-05 20:38 PST

Well I'm not good at recaps, and these might not be in order... but here's some of what happened:

The drug-lords took Jonas away, and threatened to behead him unless Daddy Dearest comes up with the money. ~ Drago told Vanya that Drago is out "searching for his son", but Vanya knows he's lying.

Jimena was in the office with Juan, giving him a goodbye kiss on the cheek, and Jovanka walked in and saw them. She had gone to Juan to show him the letter from Salome, saying she was going with Sebastian to find Fardi. Jovanka's eyes turned green with envy.

Sashenka is walking the streets trying to find employment, and Rafael is secretly following her. She came upon a street musician playing guitar, and asked if he could play flamenco. She started dancing, and people started tossing donations her way,

Sebastian and Salome visited an orphanage, on the pretense that they were a childless couple, wanting to adopt. They figured they might find Fardi there. As Sebas talked to an overseer, Salome slipped away and ran into the cleaning lady.....wearing Fardi's medal. So Salome started begging her for information.

Branco was miffed cause he saw Camila giving Mario some supplies for the baby hunt. She told him "At least he's helping to try and find the baby, unlike you."

Erendira went on a rampage breaking things in her bedroom, when she found out Sebastian left to search for Fardi. She seems to have an evil plan up her sleeve,

I'm sure other people can fill in what I may have forgotten. ~

Telenovela-World: Dialogue/Diálogo - Mirko & Alfredo [USA, 2/16/05?] Author: Tuly (---)

Date: 02-16-05 14:46 PST

Mirko – Good morning, Pa Father-in-Law. How come the tired face?

Alfredo – I haven’t gotten any sleep.

Mirko – Ah, you stayed up betting the profits at the casino, huh?

Alfredo – That casino is clandestine. I beg you that nobody else finds out.

Mirko – Okay. And? How was your night?

Alfredo – Terrible. The patriarch of the gypsies, that so-called ...

Mirko – Drago.

Alfredo -- ... Drago. He didn’t leave until dawn. If he hadn’t been dragged out by some guys that he was playing with ...

Mirko – He was playing and betting?

Alfredo – Yes.

Mirko – And what do you mean he was dragged out? By whom?

Alfredo – Some guys he was playing with ... they didn’t get up from the table until the sun came up. This Drago is not a trustworthy type, is he?

Mirko – Why? Why are you asking?

Alfredo – I’m not sure, I can imagine (he’s not).

Mirko – Well, the truth is that I don’t like to gossip about anyone, much less the gypsies, but to be honest, ever since Drago took over the tribe, things are not going well ... they have been going from bad to worse.

Alfredo – Then why does he continue as patriarch?

Mirko – Well, a patriarch is elected for life. And Drago is very astute at manipulating people, he’s always been that way. And with the respect he has for gypsy law, he’s been able to win a lot of people over ... like my father, for example. He was loyal to Drago until he died.

Alfredo – If we are to judge by his friends, I’m pretty sure that Drago is involved in something very murky.

Mirko – Yes, I think so too.

Alfredo – Tell me, Mirko ... don’t you miss your people?

Mirko – What do you mean my people? My people are you, Sandra, Claudio ...

Alfredo – Yes, I know, I know, but I’m referring to the gypsies, to your former life. Don’t you miss them?

Mirko – Well, the truth is that sometimes I get nostalgic, but that’s normal, don’t you think?

Alfredo – Yes, I understand.

Mirko – I always felt proud of my race, of my people, of belonging to a culture that is so dignified and honorable as that of the gypsies, but the truth is that little by little that pride has turned into shame since Drago became patriarch.

Alfredo – What’s going on over there? Is that Juan?

Mirko – It’s Juan.

Alfredo – Maybe there’s news about Salomé’s son.

Mirko – Let’s go see.

***************ESPAÑOL***************

Mirko – Buenos días, papá suegro. ¿Y esa carita?

Alfredo – Es que no he dormido.

Mirko -- ¿Estaba jugando y apostando?

Alfredo – No sé, me imagino.

Alfredo – Dime, Mirko ... ¿no extrañas a tu gente?

Mirko -- Vamos a ver.

Telenovela-World: I'll try to transcribe dialogue tomorrow, but ... [USA, 2/16/05?] Author: Tuly (---)

Date: 02-16-05 19:21 PST

... the gist of it was that Juan refused to leave Jovanka alone in the house while everyone was out searching for Fardi, though Jovanka kept insisting that he leave because they now had lives apart from each other. Juan was stubborn and stuck to his guns ... he then took care of Jovanka's hurt ankle by putting some balm on it and wrapping it with a bandage; then he proceeded to carry her upstairs to her bedroom.

Then came the usual -- we can't be with each other, though we love each other, blah, blah, blah. Juan then decided to leave, but now it was Jovanka's turn to ask him to stay. Juan gave her a kiss and took his leave.

I was ready to yell at the monkey writers when Juan, on his way out the door, decided to turn around and head back up the stairs (following my yelled instructions, of course, LOL!). As he was running up the stairs,

Jovanka met him halfway ... she had come down to stop him from leaving. Juan said he had tried to leave, but he couldn't; Jovanka said how much she needed him; they kissed. End of episode.

Tomorrow ... the previews show them getting intimate!

Telenovela-World: Top Ten Reasons I enjoyed this episode [USA, 2/16/05?] Author: maritere (---) Date: 02-16-05 20:28 PST

10. Sashenka didn't say one word the whole show, (although I'm not sure if that was because she was trying so hard to remember her dance steps she temporarily lost her powers of speech);

9. Sebas and Salome actually had a conversation about something other than their ridiculous reasons for being apart and were actually engaging in constructive adult behavior using their compbined Aquaman/Shallowme powers to seek Fardi;

8. Jimena wasn't slithering around Juan, leaaving him free to give Jovanka comfort, as well as a foot massage DAA would kill for;

7. Escudero's obvious joy in bringing a shred of hope and his ecstatic reaction to Jovanka's kiss of gratitude by doing the "happy Escudero" dance out the door;

6. Juan FINALLY kissing Jovanka the first time

5. Claudio pointing out to Magda that now she has first-hand understanding, thanks to Rafa's gentle rejection of her attentions, that unrequited love SUCKS:

4. Juan and Jovanka kissing for a second time in the same episode;

3. Erendira's blessedly brief appearance in tonight's show, her derangement indicating that, thankfully for us, the white coats can't be too far off;

2. Milenka managed to have a conversation with Vanya without any snivelling whatsoever; AND, Lazslo actually stuck up for her and Vanya when Farsiarca tried to cut Vanya off;

and everybody's Number One of the Tonight's Top Ten:

1. The Kiss that Stopped the World turning in Malarribo for a minute in the closing scene!

Telenovela-World: Dialogue/Diálogo - Juan & Jovanka (Wed., 2/16/05) Author: Tuly (---)

Date: 02-17-05 16:47 PST

Jovanka – Really, it’s not necessary that you stay. I’ll be waiting here for news about the child. I’ll pray for Sashenka and for my grandson so that God will take care of them wherever they may be.

Juan – Jovanka, have faith … your daughters are what you made of them. I’m sure that all three will be fine. And the child will turn up, you’ll see.

Jovanka – Thank you for lying and raising my spirits.

Juan – No, no … I’m not lying. I have faith that things will turn out all right because you and your daughters deserve it. It’s only fair.

Jovanka – Life is not always fair, that’s why I don’t expect much from it any more.

Juan – Don’t talk that way, Jovanka. In spite of everything, life has given us opportunities to feel wonderful things, don’t you think?

Jovanka – I told you to leave. I don’t want to cause you any problems.

Juan – What problems are you talking about?

Jovanka – You decided to make a life away from me, and I’ve realized that you haven’t wasted any time doing so. Someone is waiting for you and that’s why you have to leave. No one is waiting for me and that’s why I must stay.

Juan – Jovanka, please …

Jovanka – Goodbye, Juan.

Juan – I know that you want me to leave because you think that I’d rather be with Jimena instead of here, but that’s not the way it is, Jovanka.

Jovanka – I think I believe that that’s not the way it is, but your behavior as of late tells me something different. And so I don’t make myself crazy, I have to imagine that what you feel for that woman is of substance. If not, why are you going out with her?

Juan – I’m not going out with anyone! Jimena is simply a good friend, that’s all.

Jovanka – Be careful with what you say. I wouldn’t want you to say something stupid just to say it and then hurt me.

Juan – Jovanka, how could I hurt you? I don’t want to hurt you; I also don’t want to lie to you.

Jovanka – Oh, Juan, please, do as I say and leave. I don’t know what I’m doing discussing this with you when I should be worried about my grandson and my daughters.

Juan – Your worry is evident, so don’t chastise and be so demanding of yourself.

Jovanka – I’m stupid and I become even more stupid when you’re next to me. It’s not fair, I shouldn’t feel this way. You and I are clear on the fact that a separation and distance is the best thing (for us). So why am I acting like a dumb teenager?

Juan – I don’t know … but you look very pretty. What I want you to know is that there is nothing going on between Jimena and me. On the other hand, I don’t want to deny that she’s given me a great deal of support and has been by my side during trying times.

Jovanka – Pardon me, Juan, but if you don’t leave, I’m going to close my eyes and I’m going to imagine that you’re not here, that you don’t exist.

Juan takes her face between his hands and kisses her.

Juan – I don’t exist?

Jovanka – Juan … I … I have things to do.

Jovanka goes up to the second floor and comes back later to find Juan lying on the sofa, napping.

Jovanka – Juan …

Juan (waking up) – I thought that you had gone to bed. What are you doing with those clothes?

Jovanka – I’m going to put Sashenka’s clothes in a trunk. Only she’ll know whether she’ll use them again or not.

Juan – And you can’t put that aside and sit here beside me?

Jovanka – I already made it clear that if you didn’t leave, then I would ignore you and make believe you weren’t here.

Escudero interrupts and gives them the news that Sebastián called on the radio and that he and Salomé were following a clue that might lead them to Fardi. When Escudero leaves, Juan hugs Jovanka.

Later, we find Jovanka praying before the icon of Santa Sara …

Jovanka – Thank you for bringing me news of my daughter, Santa Sara. Now take care of her, protect her from all evil, look out for her wellbeing among bad people, and give your blessing to my grandson who’s nothing more than an innocent child in all of this. Also, don’t forget to watch over my daughter, Sashenka, wherever she may be, don’t abandon her or Rafael who is looking for her. (Juan comes up quietly behind Jovanka and overhears her prayer while he notices a large bruise on her ankle). Help him to find her and bring her back to us … bring her home.

Next we see Jovanka reclining on a chaise longue while Juan gently rubs a balm on her ankle and foot …

Jovanka – You’re making a big deal out of nothing, Juan.

Juan – Your foot is very hurt; I don’t know how you’re able to walk.

Jovanka – So now you’re the doctor that will cure me.

Juan – I just want to apply a balm so that you can rest and tomorrow the swelling will have gone down and you will feel better.

Jovanka – I’m never going to feel better.

Juan – From your foot, yes, you’ll see. Do you feel better?

Jovanka looks straight ahead, ignoring Juan.

Juan – All right, all right … if you don’t want to say anything, then suit yourself. Even if you felt wonderfully, you wouldn’t say anything. But you have tended my wounds many times, so the least I can do is to reciprocate with the same love and dedication that you have given me so many times. (Juan starts to bandage the foot … Jovanka winces). I’m sorry … I know it hurts.

A bit later, while Jovanka is still resting, Juan comes up with a tray bearing two wine glasses, a bottle of wine and a rose.

Juan – Would the lady like anything else?

Jovanka – You’re overdoing it, Juan. How much longer do I have to stay here without moving?

Juan – Don’t take your health so lightly. You shouldn’t move nor walk at all from tonight until tomorrow. That way you’ll give your foot a rest.

Jovanka – This is crazy. It’s already unfair that I’m here while my daughters search for my grandson, and moreover that I sit here and rest while somebody waits on me.

Juan (offering her a bite to eat) – You’ll love this, you’ll see.

Jovanka – Juan, you’re not listening. I don’t want any more service or to be spoiled. I want you to leave.

Juan – Do you know how many times today you’ve told me to leave? You should realize by now that you’re not getting anywhere. Why don’t you give up and let me take care of you?

Jovanka – I should be taking care of my daughters and my grandson, not letting someone spoil me.

Juan – One thing is what you think, another is what I think. And for your information, I’m going to take care of and look out for you, because that is what I want to do. So let me give you some advice: close your eyes, and even if it’s for a minute, allow yourself to believe that everything will be alright, that tomorrow there won’t be tears or problems, and that you will be happy with those whom you love.

Jovanka once again stares ahead, ignoring Juan.

Juan – I’m telling you to close your eyes, stubborn one!

Jovanka finally does as Juan asks, she closes her eyes, and tears start to slowly run down her cheeks.

Juan – Rest, relax, it’s going to do you good.

Jovanka – I would like to fall asleep and forget about the whole world, but I can’t.

Juan – Of course not, because every person you love is important to you, that’s why you can’t.

Jovanka – I don’t even know if I love well.

Juan – You have to have faith in what you’ve planted, in your daughters which are the most precious things you have reaped in your life, and that’s why they won’t let you down and they’ll fare well against all the odds they have to go up against.

Jovanka – And you?

Juan – What about me?

Jovanka – You’re also part of what I’ve planted, or at least of what I’ve found in my path and that I’ve felt was mine, and nonetheless I gave you up. I gave you up so that I could follow my daughters.

Juan – No, by God. Now I understand that it couldn’t have been any other way. It was very selfish of me to reproach your doing it. Now I understand that you didn’t have another alternative.

Jovanka – I’m not so sure of that.

Juan – Well I am, because that has been your life … to love others without allowing yourself to think about what you needed or wanted. (Juan kisses her lightly).

Jovanka – It’s a curse.

Juan – What?

Jovanka – Happiness.

Juan – No, don’t say that.

Jovanka – I have to say it because it’s the truth. We touched the heavens and were on the verge of staying there, but we couldn’t.

Juan – It’s true, we couldn’t.

Jovanka – God showed us the entrance to happiness so that we could know what we would be sacrificing for the rest of our lives.

Juan – Let’s not bring God into this. We can’t blame Him for that happiness that we were unable to have. (Juan looks lovingly at Jovanka). I’m going to take you to your room.

Juan takes Jovanka in his arms and takes her to her bedroom. He lays her down on the bed and …

Jovanka – Why are you doing all of this for me?

Juan – I already told you … because I worry about you.

Jovanka – And you confuse me. You give me all of this service, this love … what for? Why are you making me feel good so that tomorrow you’ll cast me aside again?

Juan – No, Jovanka, I would never cast you aside. You’re too important to me.

Jovanka – Look at us, both of us desiring to with all our hearts to kiss and not daring to. In the midst of all of this misfortune, the only thing that would console me is that which I can’t have.

Juan – That which we can’t have … neither one of us. It’s best if I leave now.

Jovanka (taking Juan’s hand) – You’re leaving?

Juan – You’ve been asking me to leave for hours and now you don’t want me to?

Jovanka – I just wanted to thank you. Now you can leave.

Juan comes close to Jovanka and kisses her … then he turns around and leaves. Juan climbs down the steps and walks with determination toward the front door, but the memories stop him …

- Look at us, both of us desiring to with all our hearts to kiss and not daring to. In the midst of all of this misfortune, the only thing that would console me is that which I can’t have.

- That which we can’t have … neither one of us. It’s best if I leave now.

- You’re leaving?

Juan changes his mind and runs with purpose back toward the stairs … he runs into Jovanka who’s running down from her room … they share an intense hug.

Juan – I tried, Jovanka, I swear that I tried, but I can’t handle it any more.

Jovanka – And I couldn’t let you leave without telling you that I need you.

Juan and Jovanka share a passionate kiss … end of episode.

Juan – No, no … no te estoy mintiendo.

Juan -- ¿De qué problema me estás hablando?

Juan – Jovanka, ¿cómo te voy a hacer daño? Yo no quiero hacerte daño, tampoco te quiero mentir.

Juan -- ¿No existo?

Solo ella sabrá si volverá o no a usarla.

Jovanka – Juan, no me estás escuchando.

Juan – Descansa, relájate, te va a hacer bien.

Juan – Es verdad, no pudimos.

(Juan mira cariñosamente a Jovanka) . Te voy a llevar a tu recámara.

Jovanka – Y a mí me desconciertas.

Telenovela-World: Dialogue/Diálogo - Juan & Jovanka (Thurs, 2/18/05) Author: Tuly (---) Date: 02-18-05 08:00 PST

In Jovanka’s bedroom, Juan and Jovanka hug and kiss. Then …

Jovanka – I would give anything to stop the world and be with you as if nothing else existed, even for a few hours.

Juan – I will always be with you, my love, always! I will always take care of you, I will protect you. All of my passion is yours, my kisses, my caresses, everything.

Jovanka – I love you, Juan, I love you. If you’re going to take care of me tonight, take care of me for the rest of my days.

More passionate kisses and caresses … Jovanka unbuttons Juan’s shirt as they kiss … Juan reciprocates by undressing Jovanka … they make love.

“After the lovin’” <g>, Juan and Jovanka lie in bed happy and content (and probably exhausted!) … Jovanka resting her head on Juan’s chest,

Jovanka – How come it took us so long to make love, Juan?

Juan – I wanted to be honest with everyone, with my beliefs, with yours …

Jovanka – I’ve dreamt of this moment for so long …

Juan – Just as I have, my love, just as I have.

Jovanka – Like that day that we kissed each other in the jail …

Juan – That day I told you that reality with you was much more wonderful than dreams, remember?

Jovanka – I thought you were exaggerating.

Juan – Of course not.

Jovanka – I know, now I know … and I’d like to tell you that I think you are the most wonderful man that I’ve known in my life.

Juan – Really?

Jovanka – All that I’ve dreamed now seems like nothing compared to this, that’s why I’m going to stop dreaming and not leave your side ever again.

They share another passionate kiss.

Morning dawns … Jovanka awakens to find that Juan is no longer next to her, but as she looks around, she sees that her entire bed is covered by rose petals. Juan comes in carrying a tray …

Juan – Good morning. I took the liberty of invading your kitchen to make you something for breakfast.

Jovanka – And the flowers?

Juan – I also took the liberty of invading your garden to bring you a few flowers to keep you company. Of course, if you don’t like them, if they don’t make you happy …

Jovanka (smiling) – You’re being silly. (She sits up and takes Juan’s hand). Tell me that it wasn’t a dream, tell me that all that happened last night was not a lie. Tell me.

Juan (tenderly) – It wasn’t a dream … it’s not a lie. It’s the truth. I love you, Jovanka.

Final passionate kiss of the night …

Ahora, si no te gustan, si no estás contenta …

Jovanka (sonriendo) – Tonto.

Telenovela-World: someone help me out...[USA, 2/18/05] Author: grey (---) Date: 02-18-05 23:27 PST

okay, i'm getting way too obsessed with this show i started watching right when sebastian got stabbed and i think i have worked out most of the back story, but maybe someone could help me with these:

1) who is baldomero? paska's brother? the same one that used to be patriarca? that vanya lives with? is this a relative of victoria or lover?when paska showed up for his papers from victoria. what's up?

2) erendira called dona victoria tia before she and sebastian hooked up. are they cousins? wtf?

3)how did drago engineer the takeover of the tribe i know he killed janko, but how did salome end up with jonas? she was promised to him...but why did she marry him abandon sebastian? and the one who said he killed sebastian? then never explain why she abandoned him, to save his life.. who knows? i think she is really unfair yeah she is being a martyr, but also hurting him and their kid...

okay, any help here people...

Re: your summary and a little more...Author: Latin Passion (---) Date: 02-19-05 05:25 PST

I'll do the best I can here:

1) Baldomero is Mama Paska's brother and also the 1/2 brother of Dona Victoria. Baldomero is the man who lives in the boxcart and is providing Vanya with housing. Baldomero and his siblings are the children of an Ex-Patriarca. When the father got exiled for having an affair with Victoria's mother a gadji, Baldomero left with his father. The paper issue basically was that Dona Victoria denied the whole thing and asked Mama Paska to leave. She was asking for the letters and pictures that would incriminate Dona Victoria as being half gitana. No one but Dona Victoria, Baldomero and Erendira and her family know about Victoria being a half blood.

2) Yeah Erendira and Victoria are cousins, but since Victoria is older out of respect she calls her tia.

3) Vanya knowing that Drago was power hungry and was fiending to become Patriarca decided to denounce his role as Patriarca and leave it to Drago, because he felt that he couldn't be Patriarca if his own people had distrust in him. Salome when trying to flee from where her and Sebastian were hiding out (a huge abandoned ship), decided to leave through the jungle/forest. She was fleeing, because she got premonitions of Sebastian being killed by Jonas. She saw a vision in which Jonas made a blood oath to Santa Sara that he would kill the man who stole his wife/the woman he was in love with. I say wife because during the wedding ceremony they (Jonas and Salome) were halfway married by the Gypsy rite. The ritual wasn't finished because thats when Sebastian and Claudio came in to claim their wives and Sebastian runs away with Salome. Going back to Salome fleeing. When she was running through the forest Rodrigo and a fisherman catch her. Jonas and Drago are also part of the search team to get Salome back. When they found her they kept her in a shed. Jonas and Sebastian were fighting in the river. When Jonas underhandidly gets help from his father who helps in beating up Sebastian they also bring him back to the shed. While there Jonas tells Salome if you wanna see him alive you must abandon your love for him and be mine and return with me to the tribe. Salome agrees in order to save Sebastian's life, but tells Jonas he will have her, but he will never have here love. Drago promised Dona Victoria Sebastian wouldn't be hurt, but out of his cynical pride stabs Sebastian to claim the blood on his dagger as a symbolism of the blood of Salome's purity that was supposed to have been given to Jonas. This in a way is supposed to appease Jonas' pride.

I definately agree with you on your stance on Salome being a martyr, but at the same time being selfish. I hold the same belief with her mom being like that too. If you want you should read my post labled "Somethings going to hit the fan". I seriously understand love, but morally I still stand by what I believe as Jovanka being selfish. I know a lot of my fellow foristas disagree and put the stance that Rafael did the same to her with his wife. But still man you try to better yourself and not stick to the same bloodline. They're basically reusing the whole thing of acceptance. The same way Sebastian was mature to acept that Salome was his sister from his father cheating on his mother. I guess they want Sashenka to do the same thing. I still hold strong, because even Juan felt it was wrong as pointed out in yesterdays episode. He was like what are we gonna tell Rafael. She's still being selfish, but she wants people to understand her. Twenty two years of living with a secret like that and then you're going to spring another secret on your daughter when she gets back. "BTW Sashenka while you were away from being so shocked by the news I was having a passionate night with your uncle. I Love You". Seriously someone should try and see it from that point of view well at least mine.Seriously if you had a kid with someone aren't married, and then come back a couple of years later and sleep with his/her brother/sister I don't know if its just me, but I find that'd be rather distasteful. The fact of the matter is when they made that pact to get Jovanka's love I think that was prior to Juan and Rafael having any knowledge of Rafael and Jovanka having a child together.

Does anyone think that Jimena will do something with Juan thus devastating Jovanka ? Its highly not likely, but I was rooting for Rafael and well I just was, because he changed so much way before he knew of having a daughter.

Telenovela-World: [USA, 2/23/04] REAL-TIME SPOILER SUMMARY - FOR JAV AND WCC Author: maritere (---)

Date: 02-23-05 19:36 PST

Ciao to all the WCC, and a special besito to JAV, somewhere in Mid-America, who is already missed mucho!

Here we go with tonight's spoiler summary!

At the bar, Rodrigo and Juan struggle, Juan is still trying to get the knife away from Ropuerco, who continues to taunt him drunkenly.

Juan manages to get a grip on him and leans him up against the counter, still trying to make him let go of the knife, and Ofelia, anxious to help out, gives Ropuerco a good golpe de gracia with a bottle from the bar. The bottle shatters, but Ropuerco is out like a light.

At the camp, alone with Jonas, Drago disparages his useless, worthless, dishonored son, who can't even keep a wife. Jonas wants to know what he has to do to get back in his father's good graces. Drago tells him to get Salome back - anyway he can - even if it means killing Sebastian - to save what's left of his honor. Nobody respects a gitano whose wife runs around and makes a fool of him! He won't accept a son like that!Jonas storms off in search of Salome.

In Tijuana, Sebastian and Salome are about to get smuggled into the US abroad a produce truck when Salome has one of her visions and mutters, "Jonas don't do it!", going into trance.

Rafa waits for Sashenka at the hotel....and waits...and waits.

At the house, Magda assures Vanya she'll be fine at home alone, he needs to be with Milenka. Vanya instructs her to lock up and be careful. Magda walks through the house after he leaves and finds an angry Jonas hiding in the living room. He grabs her roughly and demands to know where Salome is - and if she's with Sebastian. Why are they hiding her whereabouts from him, he's her husband and has a right to know.

Out on her balcony, Vicky comments to herself that the gitano blood in her has ruined her family - if only she could change the past - look at what mess Sebastian is in, and Juan's a disgrace, all because of those miserable gitanas, it must be something in her tainted blood, this curse!

She goes back into the house and finds Juan waiting for her. She tells to get out - he's not welcome in her house. Juan refuses to leave - he wants to know if she had anything to do with Fardi's disappeance.

Sebastian tries to calm Salome, who goes into full trance, faints, and freaks out the poor truck driver, who refuses to take them.

Sebastian then argues with the truck driver, who won't take her anywhere in that condition. Sebastian tries to revive her while stil arguing with the driver. Finally Salome comes to and assures the driver she's well enough to go on.

Vicky denies having anything to do with the baby's kidnapping -why would she do such a thing? She acidly comments that Sebastian is riskig his marriage to chase the miserable gitana and the kid. Juan insists that her hatred of the gypsies is such that he doesn't know how far it goes and what it would make her do. Vicky wonders how he can be her son. Juan insists that he loves his mother, but ...she is the only rich woman in town, and Ropuerco is walking around with a big mouth and lots of money suddenly.

She denies, denies, denies and then denigrates her son - if he wasn't bewitched by that zorra gitana, he wouldn't have left the church and damned himself - or accused his own mother of something so low and vile .

Juan explains again that "someone' got a lot of $ to do a "little work" - and she's the only person who fits that description of the town's richest woman.

Stubbornly and angrily, Jonas continues to insist that he has the right to know where Salome is right now, and Magda tells him off - good and proper - he should have been looking for his son, which is what his "wife" is doing and adds that wherever Salome is, she's better off without him and his degrading treatment. Jonas grabs her and Magda calls his bluff - is he going to hit her? Jonas denies he'd ever hit a woman, and sees that Magda is not the least afraid of him - in fact she tells him to disappear. now it's her turn to be angry. Magda tells him off again - what kind of man is he, he's not even capable of looking for his son, why is he so hellbent on finding Salome instead of Fardi? Jonas insists that she knows something about Salome that she's hiding - is she with Sebastian? Where did she go?

At that moment, Vanya comes back and demands to know what Jonas is doing, in his daughter's house, and why is he threatening Magda?

Vicky dismisses Juan's suspicions - how dare he suspect her?

Vicky tries to guilt him, for getting involved with Jovanka...but he insists she tell him the truth. Vicky calls him a Judas but Juan won't allow her to get away with it - here the victim is Fardi, not her. He begs her to tel him where the baby is.

Erendira has been listening to the entire conversation from just outside the room, and curses Ropuerco for being a big-mouth fool - but she tells herself, in any case, she's going to get even with him.

Jonas, now much calmer, tells Vanya all he wants is to find his wife. Vanya reminds him he just saved his life, and this is the way he treats them? What's wrong with him? Jonas says it's a question of honor - he has to get his wife back, he's sick of everyone putting him down and questioning what he does with Salome. He leaves the house, and Magda sobs to her grandfather - if Jonas is an example of the tribe today, what happened to them, how did they get to this point? Vanya doesn't answer her directly - he just reassures her that she's safe now.

Still at the border, Sebastian argues with the truck driver, who is afraid that Salome will go into convulsions and cause trouble with the migra. Sebastian insists they had a deal, and the driver finally agrees to take them as far as Los Angeles. Before getting on the truck, Salome tries to make Sebastian swear that he will stay away from her forever once they are back in Mexico. Sebastian can't understand why she would want him to do such a thing, but just then the driver tells them to get on the truck - he's leaving.

Vicky and Juan continue to argue, she refuses to listen to any more of his insults. If he's so sure that she's a criminal, why doesn't he just call the cops and put his own mother in jail? She blames that devil of Jovanka - that woman has ruined him! She again tells him to leave, and when he won't budge, she leaves the room and consults with Erendira - it's obvious she heard everything that was said - since Ropuerco opened his big mouth, what can they do now? Erendira puts a knife in her purse and says she's going hunting -she'll tell her later - AFTER she's solved their problems and saved Vicky's hide in the process. Vicky seems to be worried that her niece will make things worse, not better and warns her to be careful and not to do anything dangerous. Erendira is not listening at all...she seems to have her own little plan already made.

Rafa finally leaves the hotel, tired of waiting for Sashenka to show up, and goes to the nightclub, which is closed during the day and asks for Sashenka. The managers have no idea where she is right now, but the night before she went off with someone...Rafa leaves, dispirited.

Vicky demands to know just how Erendira is going to solve their problem? Erendira says she's going to make it disappear - to defend her dear tia and herself - Ropuerco's talking and he has to shut up. Erendira assures her aunt she's just going to persuade Ropuerco to deny they had anything to do with it.

Drago and the narco have settled their differences and are discussing their next move - Drago is not happy about the way that they invaded the camp and made him look bad in front of his tribe. The narco reminds him that he wasn't thrilled about getting beat up by those two gypsies Drago sent to free his son.

Drago denies that he had anything to do with the two gypsies who beat them and freed Jonas. They weren't acting on HIS orders! Nor are they any friends of his - in fact, they're his enemies and they will pay for what they did, he swears. He wants to keep working with the narcos and swears he's their buddy - but they have to leave the tribe alone, he'll take care of those two, especially the one called Vanya.

Sebastian and Salome arrive in LA - the truck driver tells them where to get the bus, and suggests that in this city Salome needs to change clothes, to blend in better, since gypsies are hated here too.

The narco tells Drago that everything is over, no grudges, there's money to be made and they'll start over, since the busines is too lucrative to drop it and the gypsies are good cover for their activities. But he wants those two "rebel" gypsies gone, he's got a score to settle with them. Drago presses his advantage and tells him that Vanya is a loose cannon and needs to be taken care of - and then there are the Dominguez, who also need to be dealt with, since they've already gotten the police involved once, they could endanger their nice little business. Drago suggests that the narco eliminate Sebastian and Juan Dominguez, which will eliminate a lot of problems - for everybody, while he'll take care of the two gitanos, especially Vanya.

Sebastian and Salome get off the bus in downtown LA, and when Sebastian tries to ask for directions, he's brushed off crudely and rudely. Salome thinks it's because she's a gypsy - people usually try to avoid them.

Escudero and Ofelia are in the office. He is congratulating her on solving the Ropuerco problem when Juan walks in. Ofelia asks Juan if he found out anything on what Ropuerco said - Juan tells her he has his suspicions and asks her if she knows where Ropuerco is now ? Ofelia replies hasn't seen him since Juan threw him out of the bar. Ofelia asks if he asked his mother about the story Ropuerco told them? Juan admits he did, but asks her not to talk about it with anyone. He goes off with Escudero.

Sebastian and Salome walk down a street, looking for a house. Salome is convinced that the woman deceived them - the house doesn't exist. Salome is defeated - she hasn't 'felt' her son since they left Tijuana, they're never going to find him, she despairs. Sebastian, tired and discouraged, just embraces her. Salome is ready to give up, and Sebastian tries to give her hope - she has to focus, use her instincts to find Fardi. They've gotten this far, they have to go on until they find Fardi. They will find him! Salome takes hope from his words and they decide to go on.

Camila visits Magda and confesses that things with Branko aren't working out. Magda isn't surprised - she thinks Branko's just a seducer, and Mario was much more worthy as a husband and father. Camila regretfully sighs, she knows she blew it with Mario. Magda presses her to seek Mario and put things right. He still loves her - Camila wishes she could, but things aren't so easy. Just then, Branko strolls in.

Ropuerco walks into Baldomero's bar and demands a drink, which Baldomero refuses to serve him. Ropuerco turns around and sees Milenka and Nina...and comments that the service has improved..now Baldomero has nice girls available. Milenka looks at him with fear.

Baldomero tries to chase Ropuerco out of the bar, but he advances on Milenka, who tries to pull a knife on him and tells him she's not afraid of him...he tosses Baldomero out of the boxcar and grabs Milenka, they struggle, she still has the knife in her hand and keeps threatening to kill him this time, if he tries to hurt her, but she can't get it between his ribs as she obviously would like to.

Suddenly Baldomero returns with an old shotgun and tells him to leave or he'll shoot. Ropuerco, still mocking Milenka, leaves, promising Milenka they'll see each other again. Milenka and Baldomero are relieved to be free of him, and Milkenka thanks him for being so brave and saving her life.

Sebastian finds out they're on the right street, but in the wrong section of town. They go off, finally in the right direction.

Branko demands that Magda mind her own business - and tries to take Camila away, reminding his "wife" that she doesn't belong with Magda, but with him - at home. Camila hesitates, and then kisses Magda goodbye and goes to the door. Branko, still angry, gives Magda a nasty gypsy chin flick and follows Camila out, leaving Magda staring after them.

Juan and Escudero have finished going through Ropuerco's house - where Juan has found a wad of money. How did Ropuerco, that lazy no-good, get his hands on so much money, they wonder. Escudero asks if Juan really thinks that this money is a payoff for stealing the little boy? Juan definitely thinks it was, but they have no other proof. They have to keep searching.

Rafa is back at the hotel, and it's night already, still no sign of Sashenka. The clerk tells him Sashenka hasn't been back all day, and he dejectedly goes to sit in the lobby, unaware that Jovanka entered the hotel and was watching him talk to the clerk, while having a flashback of her last conversation with Juan, when he told her her understood why she had to go, and that he loved her. Jovanka also remembers what she told him - that she loved him only. Her reverie is interrupted when Rafa turns around and sees her - he's obviously delighted to see her there, but doesn't dare to fully embrace her, he just smiles from ear to ear and tell sher that he's so happy she came. She just looks at him sadly, without saying anything, and he asks, worried, if she's alright. Jovanka just stares up at him.

That same night, Sebastian and Salome finish their walk through the streets of LA by knocking on a door. Sebastian asks for a Juana Vargas. The thugs who answered the door deny anyone with that name lives there - and then drag Sebastian inside and threaten him with a gun as Salome screams. They want to know who sent him there.

end episode.

Telenovela-World: [USA, 2/24/04] REAL-TIME SPOILER SUMMARY FOR JAV & WCC Author: maritere (---) Date: 02-24-05 19:35 PST

The thug sticks a gun under Sebastian's chin and demands to know what he wants with them. Sebastian explains they are looking for a woman named Juana Vargas, which enrages the thug. He slams Sebastian (and Salome, who was clinging to his back) out the door and wans them not to come back.

At the hotel, Rafa is still thrilled to see Jovanka...even when she obviously isn't thrilled to be there with him. He explains what Sashenka has been doing and how he's been tracking her. The fact that she's so hostile hasn't helped him to help her see reason. He's glad that she's there - maybe she will listen to her mother.

Juan and Escudero are still in Ropuerco's house, debating whether or not he had anything to do with Fardi's kidnapping. They need proof! In a Vulcan blood moment, Juan morphs into SuperSleuth Juan and as he's speaking, just happens to find a picture of Fardi in Ropuerco's living room. Ok, no more questions. Time for action! Juan instructs Escudero to round up some men and they'll meet later at Ofelia's bar and from there, go after Ropuerco to find out what he did with the baby.

Erendira is leading Ropuerco under the arches when Juan and Escudero pass by and they manage to hide in doorways in the shadows and remain unseen by the two men, who are deep in conversation.

Erendira informs him that Juan suspects that he was the one who stole the baby. Ropuerco, confused, now wants to know what to do...Erendira has a plan, and tells him to come with her..she's explain it all to him, he's got nothing to worry about.

Rafa recounts to Jovanka how Sashenka found out he was tracking her - after the brawl in the nightclub, which he paints in lurid terms. Jovanka is horrified to hear what her daughter has been doing. She must talk to her. Rafa warns her that Sashenka won't listen to reason. But he's found out something she has to know about where she's working - they take teens and girls from the provinces, contract them as dancers and waitresses, and then force them to become prostitutes. Jovanka is even more aghast at this bit of information, but Rafa kises her hands and assures her that together, they will save her from this fate. Jovanka looks long at Rafa in wordless reply.

Milenka and Baldomero are still getting over the shock of Ropuerco's attack. She congratulates him on his courage, while he tells her to finally tell Vanya the whole story, but Milenka does't want to - at that moment Vanya comes in, and inquires as to what Milenka needs to tell him? Before Milenka can start snivelling something, Baldomero traps her neatly by telling Vanya that Milenka has something to tell him about what happened to her some years ago.

Juan, back in his rented room, is praying before his crucifix when someone sneaks up on him and puts a gun to his head.

Rafa and Jovanka are at the nightclub, when a waitress tells them that Sashenka isn't working there tonight. Sounding a little jealous, she informs them that their daughter is off on a special job for a special client - she's flying high now, the blonde! Jovanka gets angry and demands to know more, but the waitress doesn't want to say anything else - she'll lose her job.

Sashenka's new man has taken her to his house - but there's nobody home, and Sashenka wants to know, where's the party?

The thug holding a gun to Juan's head is a nervous young man, sent by the narcos - Juan prays out loud to God that the thug realizes what kind of sin he's committing as the man continues to hold the gun, but it's clear Juan's words are having an effect.

Back at the nightclub the waitress answers that she doesn't know where the girl is now, and doesn't want to say anything that could get her in trouble. Jovanka gives the girl a good look and demands her hand...and then reads her palm, and finds out the waitress is also a mother, and gives her information that is so true the waitress gets scared. How does she know? Jovanka laughs - she's a gypsy, can't she tell? Now Jovanka appeals to the waitress' motherly instincts - and demands that she help her find her daughter - she needs to know where she is.The waitress promises to come back with the info, but as long as they never tell she was the one who gave them the tip. She leaves Rafa and Jovanka waiting.

Ropuerco is expressing his thanks to Erendira for saving him from being discovere d by Juan...and since they are in a hotel room somewhere, he decides to thank her in another way, too, which is fine with Erendira. They start getting hot and heavy on the bed. Erendira takes a knife out of the sheath on her thigh as Ropuerco slobbers over her. As he embraces her, she sticks the knife into his back, hard and deep, and he is stunned and dazed, flopping back on the bed, asking why she did this to him. She is shocked to find blood on her dress and freaks out, leaving him agonizing on the floor as she tries to wipe the blood off her dress.

Sashenka is getting suspicious - there's no party, and where is the mother he said lived with him? Ricardo (the pig) admits he told some little white lies to get her to go to his house..but she'll forgive hm, since they've both lonely people, they can keep each other company, can't they? His intentions are obvious, and Sashenka is getting aggravated and wants to leave. He tells her she's free to go, but when she tries to leave, he tells her she can take a bath there and try on the pretty dress he bought for her. He tells her she has to hurry up - the people will be arriving soon, and of course she take her bath in total privacy, nobody (least of all him) will bother her, of course!

Milenka, sobbing, has finally confessed the truth to Vanya about how Ropuerco abused and raped her years ago. That's why she didn't want to tell him, because she was afraid he would try to avenge her honor and that Ropuerco would kill him. She begs his forgiveness, and Vanya tells her she is not to blame, she was a victim, and he's the one who should be dead. Vanya gets up and tells Milenka he's going to kill Ropuerco.

Rafa and Jovanka are still waiting for the waitress to return. She finally comes back with a paper with the address on it. Jovanka assures her that they will keep her secret, and Rafa thanks her.

Erendira, still with the knife in her hand, is now calm again as she watches Ropuerco expire. Poor guy - she liked being with him, but she only makes love to her husband, she tells him.. She puts the knife into him again, into his chest this time, but he's now dead and past caring. Again, she sees the blood on her hands and freaks out.

Juan is trying to persuade his assailant not to wreck his life by killing him. If he wants he can turn around, says the assasin - he has no problems shooting him from the front. Juan tells him to think carefully - he might die, but the assasin with have to live with this sin on his soul. Is it worth it?

Erendira obsessively scrubs the blood off her hands and sobs that no one and nothing will separate her and Sebastian. They have to love each other always, for their child, she tells her crazed reflection in the mirror over the sink, while the dead Ropuerco on the floor can't hear anything anymore.

The assailant is now face to face with Juan, gun between them. How much will they pay him to kill him? Is it worth ruining his life to become a professsional killer? Isn't he his first victim? He knows he's not a murderer... Juan implores him to think it over - think of his family, he's so young, he shouldn't convert himself into an animal just for money. No money is worth losing your soul.

Juan keeps reassuring him that he is not a killer, and hearing this, over and over in Juan's calm, rational tones, the man loses his nerve and lets Juan get the gun.

At the bar, Escudero is updating Claudio, Ofelia, Alfredo and others on Juan's discovery. Where's Juan? is what everyone wants to know. They need him there to get started on the hunt for Ropuerco. Before Escudero can reply, Vanya interrupts into the bar and loudly demands to know where Ropuerco is.....Alfredo tries to reassure him that they are there precisely to organize the hunt for him, and they will find his grandson. Vanya doesn't understand, until Alfredo updates Vanya on what Juan discovered. Didn't he know already - isn't that why he's there? asks Alfredo. Vanya, enraged, at this further outrage doesn't have time for an explanation the details - he announces wth a mighty roar to all the bar patrons that this pig has done incredible harm to his family, and he swears vehemently, by God and Santa Sara, he will kill Ropuerco like a dog!

Juan is now calming his would-be assasin with tea and confession. The man is contrite, worried about his family, and himself - since he didn't kill Juan they'll kill him. He admits it was the narcos that sent him.

Juan takes all the money he has in a drawer - it's not much, but it will get him and his family away, to another state where they can start over.

The man can't believe that his ex-victim is being so generous to his ex-killer....Juan explains that these things happen, that young men like him are driven to such degradation and it's everyone's fault, because society tolerates this indignity. But no more - he's going to do something about it! He advises his new friend to go far away and take care of his family somewhere where he'll be safe from the narcos.

In LA, the two thugs are walking out of their building, assuring each other that the strangers won't dare come back. Salome and Sebastian sneak back into the building as they walk down the street. Salome picks the lock and they begin to search the apartment.

At the camp, Drago is dressing down Laszlo - the stupid idea of rescuing Jonas put the entire tribe at risk. And what was he doing, consorting with their notorious enemy, Vanya? Laszlo finally sobs that Drago's the one who's ruined the tribe, with all his dirty dealings. Drago grabs him by the shirtfront and threatens him - Laszlo has to keep quiet and cooperate if he wants to help Drago save the situation. After all , those gambling debts are not his - but Lazlo's - and that's where all the trouble comes from, those debts whose IOUs Drago holds. If he talks, things will go even worse.

Sebastian instructs Salome to look for papers, pictures, anything that could be a clue. A little boy comes in - and demands to know what they're doing. He tells Salome his name, as Sebastian keeps searching, she explains they don't want to hurt him, they're just looking for her son. The boy informs her that he's from Tijuana, living proof that they've stumbled onto a child smuggling ring.

Back at the house, Erendira, upset in her bloody dress, which she tries to cover to avoid anyone seeing the stains, marches through the house with Vicky hot on her heels. Vicky wants to know what she did with Ropuerco, and why there's blood on her dress. Before she locks herself in the bathroom Erendira just mutters that she did what she had to do to keep Sebastian and her marriage together, and keep them from finding out what they did with the brat. Although Vicky pleads, she won't let her in, all her interest is in taking a shower and getting the blood off herself.

Sebastian finds a notebook that has info on a network of child smugglers. He and Salome are shocked. Wanting to be helpful and worried that the thugs will come back the little boy shows them where the thugs keep pictures of children, but urges them to leave before the baddies come back.

Sashenka has taken her bath and is now dressed up, putting on lipstick before the bathroom mirror. She remembers the day she was expelled from the tribe.... Drago's insults, Jovanka's explanation of her parentage and the secret she kept from her, and Jonas' refusal to stand up for her and keep her for himself when Drago wanted to marry her. Recalling Jonas' words that what happened between them was merely an act satifying carnal needs, she tosses the makeup at the mirror, and stares at her shattered refection, telling herself she has no one...no one.

Vicky waits in the bedroom for Erendira who exits the bathroom in a towel. Vicky is not pleased with what she did, angrily telling her that Juan already suspects she had something to do with Ropuerco's kidnapping of Fardi. What if they find out who was behind the kidnapping? Erenedira assures her that no one saw her, and no one will connect her with the deed...as long as they both stick to the same story, nobody can suspect them.

At the apartment, Salome starts to panic - they have to leave, now..right now!!!!.Sebastian insists they have to search everywhere for clues to where her son is and keeps going through documents.

Meanwhile, outside, the thugs are approaching their building again after their coffee break, chatting among themselves about their visitors. They're not pleased that Juana Vargas' name was mentioned, and hope those two are gone for good. They don't want to be reported.

Inside, now totally panicked, Salome insists agan they must leave, as the thugs approach and Sebastian is left literally up against the wall.

end episode...

Promo: Sashenka's host is joined by 3 other goons - he grabs her and tells her that if she doesn't want to play nice with him, they'll play nasty, as the 3 goons behind him admire her spirit, Sashenka starts to scream....

Telenovela-World: ***Dialogue/Diálogo -- Juan & Jovanka (Friday, 3/4)*** Author: Tuly (---)

Date: 03-05-05 10:20 PST

Juan walks into the church as a mere parishioner for the first time ... as he walks toward the altar, he looks around as if seeing everything with new eyes. Once in front of the altar, he kneels, crosses himself, and ...

Juan – Help me, Lord. Give me the courage and strength to walk away from her. It’s ironic, isn’t it? I asked You for the same thing many times in order to put distance between You and me and pursue my path toward love and now ...

(Jovanka comes in) – What’s wrong, Juan? Why did you leave my house like that, so abruptly, without talking to me?

Juan – I’m sorry, Jovanka, but I would prefer that we don’t talk here in church.

Jovanka – If I haven’t talked to Rafael yet it’s because I was waiting until ...

Juan – No, Rafael doesn’t need to know what happened between us. He doesn’t ever need to know.

Jovanka (getting angry) – What are you saying, Juan? I don’t understand!

Juan – It’s very clear, Jovanka. I don’t want Rafael to know what happened between us.

Jovanka (incredulous) – "What happened?" You’re talking about our love as if it had been a stumble, a mistake of the moment, an accident! How can you talk that way, Juan?

Juan – Lower your voice, please ... you’re in a church.

Jovanka -- NO!

Juan – I’m sorry, Jovanka, I’m trying to be honest with you.

Jovanka – Before I left to find Rafael in the capital, we agreed that we would be honest with him, that we would tell him the truth.

Juan – And it’s because of that that I don’t want you to say anything ... because that’s the truth.

Jovanka – What?

Juan – That there’s nothing between us.

Jovanka – We said that we would never part again, Juan.

Juan – I’m sorry, I’m sorry, but I think we made a mistake.

Jovanka – I ... DIDN’T ... MAKE ... A ... MISTAKE!!

Juan – I made a mistake. I’m sorry, it was me that made the mistake ... I’m sorry.

Jovanka – We said we wouldn’t hide any more ... and look at you! Look at you trying to find a hole in which to bury our love!

Juan – Don’t make this more difficult, Jovanka. I already said I made a mistake.

Jovanka – And I told you that I didn’t make a mistake! And I know I didn’t make a mistake because I’m willing to yell inside this church or outside of it that you are the man I love and that I will love for the rest of my life, Juan!

Juan – I have doubts, Jovanka. We both have a life, you have a daughter with Rafael ...

Jovanka – Three ... I have three daughters! And don’t bring Rafael into this because there’s nothing between us!

Juan – How can I leave Rafael out of this? He’s the father of your daughter! I feel guilty coming between you!

Jovanka (hitting Juan on the chest as a result of frustration) – SHUT UP ... SHUT UP ... SHUT UP!!

Juan – If hitting me makes you feel good and makes you see that nothing exists between us, then hit me, Jovanka. I don’t have a problem with that.

Jovanka – Bastard! How dare you talk to me that way? Do you think that what I once felt for your brother is the same thing that I now feel for you?

Juan – You’re a family, Jovanka ... can’t you see? You and he have a daughter together!

Jovanka – Shut up ... I can’t take it! I can’t believe it! If your doubts, insecurities or jealousy have grown to the point of thinking this way, then we’ve lost it all, Juan. And if you’re doing this on purpose so that I will love your brother and not you, then that’s even worse ... it’s all lost! Because I only love one man ... only one, Juan!

¡No entiendo nada!

Jovanka -- ¡NO!

Jovanka – ¡¡YO ... NO ... ME ... EQUIVOQUÉ!!

Juan – Yo me equivoqué.

Juan – Tengo dudas, Jovanka.

Jovanka – ¡Tres ... tengo tres hijas!

Juan -- ¿Cómo no voy a meter a Rafael?

Eréndira offers to get rid of Pasca for her; Victoria can only stare back.

At Ofelia's bar, Camila tells Branco that their relationship it's over; she's realized she doesn't love him, she just desired him. Branco reminds her that as soon as he found out about their child, he came running from the capital and he's ready to spend the rest of his life with them ... isn't that enough? Camila says she's not going anywhere and asks him to leave. Mario comes in and tells Branco to leave Camila alone.

RE: Rafael said something key last night [USA, 3/10/05] Author: Tuly (---) Date: 03-11-05 04:06 PST

When he was with Ofe, he told her that couldn't care less at this point whether Juan and Jovanka ended up together, he was just upset because Juan and Jovanka had made a big fool out of him. Obviously, his pride is what is hurt the most.

Telenovela-World: **Dialogue/Diálogo - Rafael, Juan & Sashenka** [USA, 3/11/05] Author: Tuly (---)

Date: 03-11-05 21:00 PST

Juan – Can we talk? I know you have all the reasons in the world not to listen to me, but I ask you as my brother … please listen to me, Rafael.

Rafael – If it’s about what happened last night, I’d rather you not say a word, Juan.

Juan – It’s not only about last night, Rafael. It’s about all of the things that for one reason or another we have kept hidden.

Rafael – That “we” have kept hidden, little brother? The only person here that hasn’t been upfront is you, Juan.

Juan – Rafael, my feelings toward Jovanka have never been a secret.

Rafael – You made me believe that there was nothing between you anymore, Juan. I asked you to please stay away from her. Juan, you know very well what Jovanka meant to me. You gave me lots of signs that you wouldn’t keep insisting.

Juan – Rafael, I’ve been living a great torment … and I’m not telling you this so you can feel sorry for me, but so you can try to understand what’s happening to me. I’ve tried to stay away from Jovanka, I’ve really tried. You have to believe me, please.

Rafael – Juan, don’t treat me as if I were dumb because I’m not. I saw you with my own eyes, Juan. And then you came out with that little phrase that “it’s not what you’re thinking, brother.” What’s the matter, Juan? Don’t you even have the courage to defend your love for her? Juan, Juan … if you’re going to play the victim with me, you better get out of here and leave me in peace.

Juan – Rafael, I’m trying to explain how confused I am.

Rafael – Well then, start by accepting things as they are, but don’t sugarcoat them for me because I don’t need that.

Juan – You’re right. It would be immensely cowardly of me not to admit to everything.

Sashenka (comes in and gets upset at seeing Juan) – Don’t you get tired of hurting people, gayó? What do you want? To give my father a wound even worse than the knife wound he’s already got?

Rafael – Sashenka, please calm down.

Sashenka – No, Dad. This man is your brother. And a brother doesn’t do what he did to you.

(Juan gets up and leaves)

Rafael – You shouldn’t have talked to Juan in that tone, Sashenka.

Sashenka – Dad, he’s your brother, he betrayed you, just like he betrayed his church.

Rafael – Look, Sashenka … I’m putting forth my best effort and I want you to try also. I’m trying to understand him; this is not easy on him.

Sashenka – Oh Dad, you’re too nice.

Rafael – Sashenka, that’s just it. It’s not about good guys and bad guys. It’s about three human beings that have lacked love in their lives for a long time.

Sashenka – But the love that has to exist now is between my mother and you, you’re my father.

Rafael – Look … I’ve moved heaven and earth to get your mother to love me again, but it’s not that easy. Love is that way … love is born, it dies, sometimes it comes back, then it leaves again. The only love that prevails and survives is love for those of our own blood.

********************ESPAÑOL********************

Juan – ¿Podemos hablar?

Rafael -- ¿Hemos callado, hermanito?

Sashenka – No, papá.
